My hubby & I are expectiong our 2nd baby, he has a son who's 10 & I have a daugther who's 6 & we both have a baby of 20 moths.. We would like for my step-son to know the good news that he is having a new baby brother/ sister..
He lives 15hrs away from us & this summer his mom dind't allowed for him to come( but that's another story).. We haven't talk with him either but since his mom is a little complicated we are thinking on giving him the news on December if he is allowed to come or should we tell him now??? The problem with his mom is that when we were expecting our first baby she used to tell the boy that his dad will not love him anymore & that he will be replaced, that's why we are scared to tell him cuz we don't want for him to get hurt by his mom, by the way he is kind of jelous of my son & my daugther too, but it is his mother fault that my hubby & him doesn't have communication(my hubby will be fighting for his custody in few months) What should we do ??? Any advices ....

i dated this guy off and on for 3 years we got pregnant and he was unfaithful and deceitful. and for a year now hes wanted to date me again and start a family... but hes still really imature. his son is 7 months when he takes off on a trip with his family for 2.5 months, comes back and wants his son to stay over night... i feel that the father has been gone too long and hes not familiar enough to stay over night without his mother... and in another two days the dad will be leaving again for another 3 weeks... am i being overprotective or is my discomfort merited?

I already know my answer--I just want to see what others would say. :-)

If you were on a crowded sidewalk/in a mall (for example) and your child wasn't watching where he/she was going and bumped into another person----What would be your reaction/What would you do?

Would you rather go to college in the same city you live in, which has no open daycares, home providers, or babysitters for your son OR go to college in a city that is 40 mins away from your home, but has an open spot for your son in an early head start? I don't know how to drive but my husband can drive me because he works 10 mins away from where my son will be going, but at night i have to go to my mom's house to wait for my husband to get out of work. He gets out at 6:00 pm. Help me choose...

I have 3 kids, but i find it hard trying to entertain them. I have my own problems to deal with and sometimes find it hard to enjoy their company. If I do things with the kids like days out I only last 2 hours b4 I get fed up unless Im getting something from the day out too.

We do a lot of threatening, and taking things away but nothing seems to work. I prefer not to spank him or hit him. I am looking for advice on how to get him to mind us, before he is out of control!

I try to explain to others, when asked what I do, that I am a Mom. This is the greatest experience in the World. I love being able to put my kids on the bus everyday. I am there when they get home, I am there when doing homework. I cook and clean and love to bake.

No, my husband does not make me do this, and Yes, I choose to do these things.

Why do people look down on these activites?

I'm talking like 20 times a day or more (no exaggerations) His doctor says not to worry cause he keeps gaining weight. He's 18 lbs. and almost 30 inches long. The Dr. said it might be acid reflux and put him on Zantac (1/2 mL twice a day) and its not helped at all. He only did that 2 months ago after I suggested it. He still says there's nothing to worry about but I'm not so sure. It doesn't really matter what he eats either. Formula (we had him on Enfamil AR), baby food, cereal, table food (hes only had mashed potatoes and peas so far), juice, whole milk, water...anything that he eats or drinks comes right back up. Sometimes he'll go 2-3 hours after he's eaten and not spit up but when he does its the food. His doctor told me that he shouldnt be throwing up food that long after he'd eaten because it should all be digested yet he refuses to do any tests or try anything else. Anyone else with similar problems? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I would like to have kids down the road but, not anytime soon. People keep telling me, after having kids, you loose interest in all the things you enjoyed as a young woman like going to movies, parties, out with friends, etc. Is this true? Because, that is one of the main things that scares me about having kids, I don't want to change in that sense. I mean, I know after having a family, your life is all about your kids, but I would still like to take out time for myself too.

I`m moving from country to country because my hubby is a businessman, so I have difficulty of tracking my children immunization schedule, besides the services in some country I am in is terrible. They have so many children coming in and out the immunization department. They didn`t even use swab before injection. And sometimes nurses come to your door to give polio to your child. They didn`t ask whether your child had taken or not. Sometimes my children have polio twice in a month. Once at school and one at home.
I heard that immunization is not necessary now. It is parents` choice. Should I just refuse to get immunization for my children? or what the most important one my child should have?

Supose your teenage kid would run away from home for 2, 3 days just to give you a scare with the porpose to loose up the rules. Then he would call you and say he comes back if you negociate the conditions of the return. Would this make you more mad and strict or more cool in the future as you would realise you pushed him away by beeing too strict?

class got out early and i wasn't there yet. The five year old went to "find Mommy" and seven year old went with to "keep her safe". Did find them about 1/2 block from home. we live in a small close knit community and there were over 50 people searching for them within 5 min, but i can't help but worry about what might have happened. I told them that they can't do that and so did the police officers, but how can i make them understand that what they did was wrong and that i will always be there to get them. I have never been late picking them up from anything.
