I am a happily married 32 year old mother of 2. My babysitter, lets call her Josie, lives across the street from me and has babysat my kids for about 4 years now. She is a great girl, she is funny, kind and gentle. She is always on time and doesn't accept extra money I give her if I'm late or if she had to pay for pizza. This makes me feel uncomfortable, but she always has a smile on her face and treat me and my family with respect.. that is to my face. Last night, I went out with my old friends from college to get drinks and dinner. Of course, I called Josie to watch the kids, 8 and 5. When she came over, she brought a large Abercrombie and Fitch bag filled with coloring books, art supplies...etc. I thought nothing of the bag, because she always brings things over to entertain the kids with. Before I left, I went into the bathroom to apply my makeup before I left. (CONTINUED)....

help. me ex has just informed me, via email, that our visitation schedule exists so he can see the kids as is convenient for him. i do not see parenting as a hobby - he does. now he informed me he will not pick them up next month when he does not want to because of work , etc. i still have to work every other weekend and my schedule is set thru october. i can not change it at all. i cannot afford to pay for additional sitting - what he pays in support now barely covers the current sitter - i pay all other expenses - food, mortgage, electric, clothes, shoes, everything. I am at my wits end. i refuse to put him down to my kids - but how do i answer them when they ask why we are eating ramen soup for dinner every night because their father pulls stunts like this? ANy suggestions? do i break down and call the lawyer again?

I'm a father of 2 girls, ages 10 and 8.Their mother doesn't live with us.I'm going to another state for 2-3 days. They will have to stay at home. Please don't send me answers talking about social services, because they won't find that the kids are alone and despite this, the kids are responsible.I need your help about the things I should leave with the kids.Money to buy food and drinks,my telephone number and instructions - not to leave the house after 8pm and go to bed early,to wash their teeth and be careful with the electricity. They have been alone in the house before but for shorter periods - 7-8 hours(when I'm at work),so they won't be scared or something. So could you tell me what other instructions should I give them?Or something else to leave with them? Thanks in advance.

My son is 6 months old and awakes very easily. I can hardly go shopping anymore unless i am real quick in the stores cuz if he is sleeping when i get there...once i move him out of the car or shortkly thereafter he wakes up and is awake the whole time i am shopping...and starts getting fussy shorly after. If i take him after his nap, he will still hardly let me shop, he will start being fussy...Does anyone else have this problem? i have done everything to make the shopping experince pleasurable and nothing seems to work. when my 8 yr. old daughter was a baby, she will let me shop to no end.

My husband has a 10 yr old that is just evil! Two summers in a row, she came to live with us. She literally brought me to tears each time. She would cut the hair off her sisters dolls, she would color, with anything she could find, on my walls, she complained about EVERYTHING I cooked (and Im a great cook! My husband is a chef!), to get her to clean her room, OMG! Both the girls would have to straighten their rooms, make their beds etc. when they got up. The older one would be done in 5min. but the other, some days, it would take her 4-5 hrs! I would come up to check on her and she'd be playing in apple juice on the carpet! And the room would still be a mess! I found old plates of food stuck under her bed and dresser. She lies about everything! She has ruined so much of our neighbors kid's stuff, that she's not welcome over anymore! I have been loving and understanding, firm and strict (never mean!), she doesn't change. Her father gets too angry with her. When she was here last......

Sorry this has nothing to do with parenting but I have a few problems with my expression and grammer, and I was wondering if somebody could tell me if this sentence is gramatically correct, and if not, how to fix it. Thanks.

Atm moment we live on a farm and i have completly no social life! my brothers and sister are starting to feel the pinch as they cannot visit friends or play sports on the weekend because we go to our holiday house which is 30mins out of town and no young people live there and my phone doesnt recieve any signal.

I already bought her a little sewing machine, but it doesn't work very good and she gets frustrated that she can't actually make an outfit. She designs her outfits on paper, but I have very limited knowledge when it comes to sewing, so I can't really help her make the outfit she has designed. She's so "into" it and I hate to waste her enthusiasm. This may just be a passing thing, but I would hate to not encourage anything that she's so passionate about.

Drug companies are using every excuse they can think of to give kids drugs. They make up hundreds of mental disorders to treat with drugs. Often playing on the emoitions of the parents to get sales.

I have been married before and changed my name legally by deed poll before I divorced, I have been using my new chosen name for 6 years and am now divorced. I feel the child should take my surname as the baby's father already has 2 boys who have taken his name, so the family name will continue. I would like my son to take my surname. What do you think?

How do you deal with your 'little angel' that used to cuddle with you now putting you at arms legnth? Lol, how do you not ground him/ her for life?
