Try to understand one thing, children like to play sooooooooo much. You cant make them study just by scolding them,or putting a password to your computer...
You can deal this situation in two ways

1.Let him discover something in his games which makes himself decide that computer games are not good for him....

2.Using his enthusiasm to use computer, buy him some interactive games which helps him to study while he is on the pc...Care is what he deserves...

I think the easy answer is to take the computer away. Do not allow him on the computer again until you see that his study habits have improved. Make him earn the privledge back.

Set a certain time and place in the house where he is to do his studies. If he needs help or supervision, it might be good for him to do it at the kitchen table while dinner is being prepared.

Hide the keyboard! LOL just kidding...

Give him some schedule for studying and playing computer games, he has to follow this schedule or else he will be banned from playing the pc forever.

Set some strict rules.

Well you have to ban use of the computer until he studies more.
Limit computer use to weekends perhaps.
He will learn that if he wants to use the PC then he will have to make an effort.
He is too young to get his priorities in order, so you have to take the distraction of the PC away.

I believe they are two separate issues - though we tend to correlate them highly. If we must assume the latter affects the studying, then remove the computer or implement strict regiment on it's usage - until he shows more responsibility (which is a bit difficult at his age). Anyway, at his age, the compurer is a toy - a very expensive and addictive one that can be removed without impact to him.

Who is the parent here and who is the child. Study first then the computer. If he cant follow the rules then no computer at all. It is that simple.

Number one, Either remove the computer from him or stop complaining. If he is not studying and earning good grades then he has not earned the privileges of using the computer. When he has earned the use of the computer then you need to limit his computer usage to maybe an hour, and that's pushing it.

Eliminate the computer. Wow, that was easy! Our kids aren't allowed on the computer unless it's for school work.
