My husband and I had our first and only child when we were 24 We did not want any more kids. so I had my tubes tied a year later. Now it has been 13 years and we just found out I was pregnant. He is insistant on not having the baby, even though I don't want any more kids and I am at a place in my life where I can't imagine one. I also cannot imagine not having it. I don't think I could live having an abortion. However, he is very adament that he DOES NOT want another baby PERIOD! What should I do?

What do people think about unassisted childbirth? When my daughter was born I called a midwife when I was very far along in labour because my waters broke and there was meconium staining, and I thought I'd better have a back up plan. She made it to the house less than twenty minutes before my daughter was born and didn't have to do anything once she got here. She just watched as I pushed my baby out. She is my first, and so far only child, was born perfectly healthy, and is still perfectly healthy.

Would you call that an unassisted childbirth? And what do you think of UC? Experiences anyone?

Was just wondering has anyone really wanted one? Or really didn't want one?! I don't know about in the US, in the UK being ginger can sometimes be seen as a bad thing.
Was watching a progam called "f*** off I'm ginger" on tv which talked about prejudice some red heads recieve (mostly boys aw). The guy presenting it was ginger & said that when he was born, the midwife handed him to his mother and was like... oh no :S he's ginger. nice eh? Has anyone had that happen to them?!
I myself am a red head, my parents are/were both brunettes, inherrited it from grandparents so I don't think I'll have ginger children....but who knows?

I read on a message board that if you make a mistake of telling people that you are depressed and suicidal that they will take custody of your child. Obviously he isn't born yet and I guess I'll wait till after he's born before doing myself in. My question is, can they take custody if you let it slip that you want to do yourself in before you give birth. Or do they wait until after you have your baby and then try to take him? I'm married, btw.

Seriously now why is it whenever I go out whether by myself or with my husband I get dirty looks from middle aged women as though I should not be entitled to have kids. Whats worse is the comments they make I know I don't look 22 but dang I am not stupid and know how to care for my child. Is it jealousy or do they assume that I am incapable of caring for a child? Also why do women in their late 30's and early 40's intentionally get pregnant and then whine about it or worse become emotional when their child has down syndrome or other complications. I think that is just selfish to do that considering you will be near retirement age when their child is just turning 18. Just something I have noticed is there this war between 20 something moms and 30 something moms? Thoughts and personal experiences welcome.

So, im curious?
You go to school.
Go to college.
Get a job.
Live in an apartment.
Get married (if you wanted to)
Buy a house.
Get settled.

Is that how it goes? Or differently?
I need opinions, wise answers! Im not really sure about the area around college, for those people who are parents or college students and who are settled, how did you get there?

My baby is exclusively breast fed( I have an excessive supply ) and doesnt take a pacifier. He sleeps for 6 -7hours during night. But during the day getting him to take a nap is a battlefield. He wants to play with his toys or chew on them or babble and stare at his surroundings.I swaddle him (which he hates and then remove it ) ,dim the lights and even swing him in his swing. But to no avail. If i do suceed ,he would take a nap that lasts no longer than 30 minutes. He is a restless short napper .How do i get him to take longer naps.

Why is it, when I tell people I'm going to find out the sex of my baby, that some people have the nerve to actually get upset with me and say things like "oh! how could you??" Why do other people care so much about something that is COMPLETELY none of their business, and how would you react to something like that??

only in the early stages so we don't know if it's a boy or girl. If you have any other good AUSSIE names let me know. If you like the name Ned give me a star.
