only in the early stages so we don't know if it's a boy or girl. If you have any other good AUSSIE names let me know. If you like the name Ned give me a star.

The name is fine, but it depends on your surname, & middle name.
Ben is also a nice name.

Aww I think it's kinda cute! I'm an Ellie and there are 8 other Ellie's in my year of 80 pupils. So think about it this way... When people shout "Ned" they are definitely gonna mean him! It's so annoying when people call your name and you turn, and it's not you! It's unique so nobody else will be called it Old names are coming back into fashion, for example Helen and Mary. It's WAY nicer than the disgusting 'modern' names such as Xavier... I mean what is that! It's adorable, and when he's a teenager, could be pretty hot too! I think you should go with it. F*ck the haters ;) be different!

Ned isn't very complimentary in Scotland. Neds are young hooligans. I think it comes from the 50's term "Teddy Boy". These guys dressed in Edwardian style clothes but were basically trouble makers, hence the term Ned.

Is Bruce too stereotypical in Oz?

I like Ned, when it comes to names always consider what "Nicknames" other kids may give the child. So always check what the initals spell and if the full name sounds ok. I know someone who named their daughter Bonnie.... their last name was Bell. Not my cup of tea... Good luck
