The moment of conception is when the sperm penetrates the egg wall and the hours that follow consist of the new cell dividing over and over again to organize the genes that will become a baby. When the bundle of cells is absorbed into the lining of the uterus, you are pregnant. But it is not detectable at this point. Technology is improving on early detection, but it still usually takes a week or two to show on a test.

By the way, the reason doctors count back two weeks to determine your due date is because it is close to impossible for many women to pinpoint the exact day they got pregnant. So they count from the first day of your last period. Since an egg is only viable for about 4 days at most, and ovulation usually occurs somewhere between 10 and 17 days after your previous period, it is actually a very accurate way of determining a due date.

Sperm that will result in boys, burn brighter but not as long, so if they don't find the egg in an hour or two it'll be a girl if at all. Camels by mom's behavior, mostly diet, can delay developing the baby quite a while-years. Not humans. Everything happens in a couple hours. The father's attitude of the moment affects the nature of the semen to influence which sperm will make it too. Happier babies had a happier dad when conceived.

Conception occurs when a sperm successfully penetrates an egg. But pregnancy begins when that blastocyst (that's what it's called at that point) implants in your uterine lining.

Yes, it's more than possible for a fertilized egg to not implant at all. It has always happened and it always will happen. It's also possible for that blastocyst to implant and then to fall away and be excreted, before you even realize that you are pregnant. These are nature's ways of dealing with non-viable products of conception, as is a miscarriage.

It takes between 72 hours and 2 weeks to get pregnant. Conception is basically a rounded out time of when you became pregnant.

I think it usually takes about 24 hrs for the sperm to make it's way to the egg & to 'break thru' the egg. Doctors, however, count back two weeks before actual conception to get the due date. It always confused me as to why they do this!

Your question makes no sense.

Do you mean when you have intercourse does that mean you are pregnany?

If so no.

Conception is a process, it doesn't just happen. Your body won't actually tell you your pregnant till about 4 days before your period is due.

Conception typically takes about 7/10 I think.

YES! That's the day your egg united with the sperm & began to multiply & divide. Fast-forward 9 mos. = baby!

Nope, you're already about two weeks' pregnant on the day you conceive. You count from the first day of your last period. I know, wacky.
