My 9 month old came down with a very high fever for 4 days, it was 104.7 at one point. I took her to the doc twice and had blood work done as well. It suddenly resolved yesterday and now she is just tired and a bit cranky. There are no other symptoms and it is bugging me that there is no specific answer to this. How do I know it isn't something horrible or serious or long lasting??

I am recently re-employed and have a baby coming April 11, 2007. I have a job that is commissioned and I need to know if there is someone that can assist me. I want to fly back to Iowa where the baby's mother lives. I want to be a part of this baby's life and don't have the monies to purchase a ticket when this baby comes. I can't take off more than a few days from work and am unable to predict when this baby is going to be born. I want to be there for the paternity test and the birth. I want to have no regrets if this is my responsibility. I have to act fast, if I hadn't lost my job a week ago then I would have been okay but I have rents due and started a new job today. Please, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. I am a father that is trying to take care of what is mine. I have straightened out my life since I heard I had a child on the way. I am needing to fly out from Phoenix, Arizona to Waterloo, IA. Please advise!

I breastfeed my daughter exclusively for 6 months. My supply was never overflowing, but she was always above average in weight. Toward the end of the 6 months I felt my body was not producing as much milk at night, so I was happy when we could supplement with solids at 6 months. She was a great mashed food eater for about 3 months, and then about 1 week ago started refusing most solid foods. She'll eat cheerios, but that is about it. Rather, she has reverted to wanting to nurse all the time. Problem is my milk supply has decreased substantially since I started her on solids.
I have tried to nurse her longer so that my milk supply will come up, but she gets so frustrated when the supply stops that she starts screaming, hitting, and kicking out of sheer frustration. On top of that, she is refusing a bottle and will only take a few sips from the sippy cup before refusing that too. Any advice on how to get the milk supply up again or why she is suddenly refusing solids?

Oh and it is very hard to wake her up. I know that if I am truly worried then I should take her to her DR. but I just wanted to get some experienced advice first.

My youngest daughter is gonna be 6 months on the 12th. It's been a long time since i had an infant and so I don't quite remember when it's ok to start a little table food. She jut cut her first tooth and their are more on their way. She's already been on cereal and fruits and veggies as far as baby food goes. Is it ok to start giving her biter biscuits and some of the gerber graduates cereal puffs?

She only seems to like bananas and sweet potatoes and that is on a good day. She presses her lips together when I go to feed her. I am using the beechnut baby food. I know that she does not like some of the fruits. They seem really tart to me. Anyone for some advice?

My 1 month old loves it. The doctor wants her to have a bottle of water occasionally. My mother in law thinks that it will harm her oral health since it contains splenda.

My son is 5 months old and teething terribly. He hasn't been very fussy about it until the evenings. For the past week, however, he keeps getting fevers. A temporal thermometer reads 99.7 and every once in a while 99.9. He is stilll eating well but demanding a lot of liquid. Today he had liquid stools but for the past week they have been so solid that he cries about it. He has a urology disorder and needs surgery that is scheduled for next month. What should I do? I'm really worried. My mother says he is just teething but I'm unsure.

Ok, this is strange. I have a 3 month old baby boy. Perfectly healthy. Today, I was gently bouncing him on my lap. He was facing away and my left hand was wrapped around his belly as support. Specifically, my left hand was right on/under his right rib cage. I noticed that if I rubbed under the right rib cage, I would hear a popping sound. Nothing from his left side.

At first I thought it was slushing from the formula but my wife quickly corrected me and said it was definitely a popping sound. Our baby is in no pain when I do this but it's freaking us out. We'll be calling the pediatrician tomorrow...but...

Does anyone have any idea what may be causing this?

Just curious moms and dads of 9 month olds...how much sleep does your baby get? What is your daily routine like? I'm a first time mom and just curious what other parents do with their day!

I am trying to establish a bedtime routine with my son that includes a bath. He loves it but I am concerned that daily baths will dry out his skin. Is it alright as long as I massage him with lotion afterwards? Is it pointless to try to establish a routine at this age?
