My 1 month old loves it. The doctor wants her to have a bottle of water occasionally. My mother in law thinks that it will harm her oral health since it contains splenda.

No This is not a joke. To address the babies 1 month old do not need water thing; my pediatrician told me to give her a little water in between bottles because my baby has a tendancy to want to overfeed. I had splenda every day when I ws pregnant as well. I was not aware that it was forbidden in pregnancy. Where di you learn this from?

Q
I have heard about a new sweetener called Splenda. Is it safe to eat foods containing Splenda when pregnant?
A
Splenda is a trade name given to a generic, low calorie sweetener called sucralose. According to the Food and Drug Administration and the Joint FAO/WHO Expert Committee on Food Additives, sucralose is safe for everyone to consume, including pregnant women.
