I ended up making my own baby food and just letting her munch off of whatever I eat. I eat very healthy, so this isn't a problem for us. Just get a food processor and puree pears, apples, avocados, or give small chunks of banana, grapes (peeled and small), green beans, beets, (cooked) carrots, etc. Its ALOT cheaper that way and better for your baby in some aspects, because there aren't any preservatives or salt added to the food you make!!
My baby won't eat ANY jar food. I give her pears from Gerber.. she hates it.... I give her pears I make, she loves it. Go figure :)

I've had 2 little ones that had food issues. My son, now 4 years old, loved his jar food but would never go above the 2nd foods to the 3rd foods because of the textures. My youngest daughter, now 2 years old, still will not eat fruit or drink juice and didn't like anything other than swet potatoes and peas in the jar. They are both very happy and very healthy kids now that eat like crazy. Bottom line, just feed her what she likes, supplement her with water and whole milk and she will be fine. Every once in awhile try a new fruit, maybe add a tiny bit of sugar to sweeten it, but she will eat what her body needs and she won't fail to thrive. Does she like eating any table food yet? If she will eat real bananas and maybe even some green beans or peas that are steamed you are doing just fine.
I had a pediatrician tell me a year or so ago that my daughter (the youngest) HAD to have juice and fruits and that I HAD to force it on her whether she liked it or not. For pete's sake, she is my 3rd child and the other 2 are just fine. Don't try to go by what everyone else says is normal, it's your daughter, she knows what she needs and you aren't being a bad mom by letting her eat the way she chooses.

If she doesn't like jar food then maybe she doesn't want to eat them. feed her food that she likes to eat first. You can do the jar stuff later. beechnut baby food, try others. Eventually, u'll get the kind she likes. You can't rush food. It takes time, nothing is wrong, it's all normal.
Sarah was 7th months old when food was introduced to her diet. Initially it was rice and cereal, sometimes oranges. (light stuff) She's fine now, 1 year old and eating everything, i mean everything!

Or don't feed her jar food.
Our kids didn't like any stage 2 or 3 foods. So we did all the food trials, and then went right to soft table foods. (Both our kids had significant reflux, and were developmentally ready for solids at 4 months, so we started early.) They ate basically what we ate, with a few exceptions, from about 7 months on.
Try Swanson's canned chicken: it's tiny pieces and it's really soft.
Grated cheese
Overcooked pasta
Almost any veggies, diced small and steamed very soft
Pretzel rods
Mango, avocado, etc. chunks
Go crazy.

Ok, this might seem off the wall, espically if you are a first time parent. My first son was about 1 when we got table food. My second son i listened to my ma and everyone around and started giving him table food at about 6 mos. Im not saying just dive right into it but gradually start off but do not start with things like bananas. Try getting corn on the cob. Eat the corn off the cob and then give it to your child. It worked great for my son and he is actually a really good eater for being 4. My oldest son that I waited with is picky!

My daughter who is now 13 mos. old, wouldn't eat the jarred babyfood past 6 mos. Try applesauce, mashed potatoes(real ones!),mash up some bananas, mac n cheese, does she have teeth? As long as she is still drinking plenty of formula or is nursing, she is still getting most of everything she needs from the milk. So, don't fret! Some babies are picky. It's her perogative to be choosey, she's a little princess, right?

My son wouldn't eat jarred foods, either. I finally gave up. I just gave him a bottle for most of his nutrition. He would eat things like Cheerios, but wasn't interested in much else. By the time he was a year old, he was eating a little more real food. He's still kinda picky.
Just keep trying things. Babies' taste buds change rapidly when they are young, and what they don't like this week they may eat next week. But don't worry if she just won't eat it - it won't hurt her to skip jarred food altogether.

My children started feeding themselves at about that age. I know it can be messy, but you might let her explore feeding herself. You might also consider moving to more solid things. One great treat is Cheerios. Children at this age are developing motor skills, and not only are Cheerios good for them, the are fun and help them practice using there hands to grab.
There are many other types of foods similar to this that would be great. My youngest hated baby food, and wanted to eat his brothers food as soon as he could grab it.
