Newborn & Baby - March 2007

Are there any stimulating computer programs I can download to play for my 4 month old? I should think there is something with entertaining visualizations for babies, but I have yet to see anything. Any suggestions?

I have a new baby. She's 3 weeks old. My other two kids were premature and I signed up for WIC. In that program, you get Good Start. The hospitals that my girls were born either started them on Enfamil or Similac. It is possible to get those formulas if there is a reason (such as prematuraty). But, my 3 week old was not. If Good Start just as good?? I have a paranoia about putting my baby on Good Start if that wasn't what the hospital put her on to begin with. Thanks Moms!

I'm 8 months pregnant and I have my suitcase packed...But I just had my baby shower and I was wondering what all did I need? I'm pretty sure I am missing stuff but this is my first child so I am pretty clueless.

I have a 2 month old baby. She has a bit of colic but, she only gets bad in the evening. She has a lot of gas, and she has a hard time getting rid of it.

Now, my mother in law seems to think that giving her a teaspoon of cereal in her bottle will help with gas? I don't think this is true? But she will not let it go.

I would like to start a playgroup for younger parents and younger babies. There really isn't anything aimed for younger couples in my area. Does anyone have any suggestions about how to do this? Posting flyers, meeting places, etc.? I live in Dallas, TX if this is helpful.

my ex-girlfriend has just given birth to a baby boy, there was 2 suspecting fathers. she is white as am i the other guy is asian.
The baby appears to be white with a hint of jaundice he also appears to have my eyes, ears and feet.

However the midwife as today said he is a mixed race baby, and sometimes they are born white and later thier skin pigment changes, she could tell this by the baby's darker than caucasian genital area.

any ideas on this, is it still worth me going for a dna test or waiting 6 months to see if is skin gets darker

It was on the news evidently a woman came into the room and said she was taking baby to the nursery and disappeared with the child. OMG I would die if someone took my newborn!!! Check it out on the news and keep your eyes out for her!

Does anyone else find that all Johnsons baby stuff like shampoo and lotion give their baby dry skin or is it just mine??
My health visitor raves about it especially their top to toe wash but its made Jack really really dry!!! Am I the only one? What do you recommend?

I need some suggestions for baby boy First name to go with these possibilities for a middle name. Middle names are either: Richard, or Gerrard, or William or Joeseph.

Hi, my daughter is nearly six months old and we have been weaning her for the past 3 weeks. She has now dropped one of her formula feeds as she has a fairly big meal of veg or rice and chicken. The problem is, she will not drink cooled boiled water, and the only juice she will drink is Hipp apple juice, which is of course the most expensive one !! It is costing me a fortune and wondered if there is any normal fruit juice or dilute I could give her ? obviously it needs to be sugar, e number etc etc free, cananyone give any suggestions ?? could I make juice ?

First I must say my baby's on Medicaid, so they pretty much "told me" where I had to take her. This was her first pediatrician, and he was not very, hum, "sensitive"... I could tell he was almost rolling his eyes when I asked a question that he probably had heard 1800 times before, but I needed to ask...
And it turned out that there's a pediatrician closer to our house, so we called Medicaid office and they transfered her records. Now, this doctor always seems to be in a hurry, he never asks me about the baby's sleep, behaviour, etc... I don't know, it's like he just wants to check her and move on to the next patient. Let alone if I have questions...
So, just because we're on Medicaid, we have to have "half-a**" visits?
