Count your blessings! LOL Babies are notorious for being inconsistent. Schedules can help them be more consistent, but only if you have that "magical" type of baby who actually responds to scheduling. Some do-- they DO exist! But many babies don't do well on imposed schedules. At 3 months, your son is still pretty young to expect him to sleep through more than 5 or 6 hours without a feeding. Babies are still growing, round the clock, just as they did in the womb. Most of them need round-the-clock feeding to fuel their growth and development.

You can encourage him to go to sleep at the same time every night by starting up a bedtime routine. Perhaps a feeding, then a warm bath, then diaper & jammies, then a song or story and bedtime. I chose to hold/rock/walk my babies to sleep, but some babies are fine being put down while they are awake, to fall asleep on their own. Every baby is different. But if you can get him falling asleep at approx. the same time most nights, his body will hopefully fall into more of a pattern with wakings, so he'll not only wake less, but also more regularly, so YOUR body can get "on schedule" as well. :)

Best of luck, and enjoy that little baby boy!

Depends. If he wakes up and is hungry or if he just wakes up and wants to play, or if he's waking cause he's wet. If he's hungry when he wakes up, I'd feed him a bit of rice cereal right before bed. Then his tummy will be full and he'll sleep longer. If he wants to play, don't let him. Make sure he's clean and fed, then rock him, soft lights and sing to him. He will get the message it's time to sleep. Another thing to try is keeping him up longer in the afternoon. Then put him to bed a little later. He'll be so tired, he'll sleep. Like I said depends on what he's doing. I'm mom to 3.
