Should we start giving him rice cereal again, more pedialyte, more formula.......

Our 4 month old has slept on Mom and Dad - not next to but on top of since he was born. We need to eventually get him into his crib but would like advice on gentle steps we should take to get him there. He is starting to be able to sleep by himself sometimes but usually needs the body contact to stay asleep. Mom goes back to work in a month and we really want to figure out a schedule/routine that will work. We know we are going to have to let him cry it out sooner or later but it seems really mean to go from letting him sleep on us right to putting him in a separate room and shutting the door while he cries himself to sleep. Has anyone else gone through this? Also, he doesn't really have the skills to put himself to sleep so advice on that would be helpful also.

I tried to introduce my little girl to formula and rice cereal and she did not take to it. So we ended up with a can and a box of rice cereal that we would hate to throw away. The formula is Similax Insomil Advance soy formula, 8 oz can that was a sample from the hospital. It was open last week and is missing one teaspoon of formula. The rice cereal is Earth’s Best Organic whole grain rice cereal 8 oz box which was open last week as well. The rice cereal is missing 2 teaspoons. I threw the box away and placed the cereal in a food container so that it would stay fresh longer. If any one needs it please let me know. We live in Woodland Hills and my husband works in the city, so you can pick it up from either place.

I'm 38 weeks pregnant with my first child. I have a 3 year old nephew that i helped raise from birth. Now that i'm having my own baby any day now i suddenly forgot how to take care of a baby. It was a breeze with my nephew and everything came naturally. I don't remember how often to feed a baby or change a baby or even what my baby should be wearing to sleep at night! Will this all come back to me? Am i just over reacting? Am i going to be a bad mom because of this?

I'm a new mom and my newborn has diaper rash. I change her diaper as soon as she goes, wipe really well, and put ointment and baby powder on her to keep her dry, and ease the pain. However, the ointment doesn't seem to be working. What else can I do to make it go away?? She's had it for about 3 days.

My daughter isn't too worried about her son's lack of interest/appetite and he is growing well. He's 23 lbs. Apart from the chicken pox 3 weeks ago which has left a lingering RSV, he is doing fine health wise. He just loves his bottle which is a soy mix. He is on multivits. He sleeps fairly well, although not completely through the night yet. There is a no cereal in the bottle rule here. Any ideas on encouraging this delightful little tyke to eat real food?

I'd like to call my soon-to-be-born son 'Lord Amusing Daffodil Pubis'. That would be his first name which I would, of course, insist be used in full at all times. What do you think of that as a name? Opinions please.

My 1 month old likes to stretch out and move around a lot! When he is in the playpen, he'll move from one side to the next. He is sleeping in a bassinet right now, but wakes up when his little arms hits the sides. At what time should he go into the crib?

These are the rates at my company's employee day care:

$11.25 per hour up to 3 hours
or it's
$32.75 for the daily rate up to 10 hours

also the babies class is 4 babies per 1 adult. how does this compare.
I have a feeling that the rates are pretty good because when I went on the waiting list when I was 4 months pregnant it was 300 people long. My baby is now 5 months old and I'm number 11 on the waiting list. I'll be going back to work in May. I only know one person who uses this daycare and they seem to like it, she recommended it. My baby will be there about 2 hours a day (my and hubby's work schedules overlap)

Any other day care advice is welcome. Thanks!

I had PND with both of my kids, and so did my sister and my aunt when they had their kids.
Is this just strange, or does anyone know if there is evidence to show if it is hereditory?

She most definitely is not as energetic as she was til now. Last time she started to sleep a lot and act tired all the time, her doctor said she was just growing.
Do you think that's happening again?

Thanks!
