May, Anne, something that has only one "sound". Lilly has two...Lil and ly, so the middle name should have one. I broke the rule when I named my daughter and both her first and middle names have 2. It doesn't sound as easy on the tongue. But try it out on your partner, family, friends and most of all on yourself, after all you will have to call her by whatever you choose for the rest of your life.
Good Luck!! BTW, I love the name Lilly, but I would spell it with only 1 L in the middle. Lily. Lilly is the name of a feminine product in the UK.
