These are the rates at my company's employee day care:

$11.25 per hour up to 3 hours
or it's
$32.75 for the daily rate up to 10 hours

also the babies class is 4 babies per 1 adult. how does this compare.
I have a feeling that the rates are pretty good because when I went on the waiting list when I was 4 months pregnant it was 300 people long. My baby is now 5 months old and I'm number 11 on the waiting list. I'll be going back to work in May. I only know one person who uses this daycare and they seem to like it, she recommended it. My baby will be there about 2 hours a day (my and hubby's work schedules overlap)

Any other day care advice is welcome. Thanks!

Just a thought...you may be better of finding a person to care for your kiddo for those two hours rather than a daycare. My sister owns two in my town so don't get me wrong, I have nothing against them but you will be subjecting your kiddo to tons of illness for just two hours. Interview seniors at your local high school for help or put an add in the paper "grandmother needed" then explain what you need. You also will probably pay less than the daycare charges for just the two hours. You can also go to your local high school and ask them to recommend someone with good grades and overall interaction at school. You can leave your number at the school. Usually they will recommend someone to call you. You really can find great help in a senior-who by May will be ready to graduate and will need college funds- you also will have an on hand sitter for evenings. Good Luck

I think it's perfectly fine. The daycare by my house is $63/day, and I flipped out. My daughter is now cared for by family members when I'm at work. I used to work at a daycare that was only $100 a week, BUT I would have maybe 10 2year olds and 10 3 year olds to take care of by myself (my boss was never a fan of regulations, which was in fact the reason I quit).

The best thing I can tell you to do, for ANY daycare, even if you wind up having someone watch them in their home, is surprise visits. That way, if there is anything illegitimate going on, you may be able to catch it. Also, if it's just a really good daycare, it will put your mind at ease.

My daycare rates are 5 per hour and 20 per 10 hours. The ratio of childcare workers to children under 1 year is 2 per every 1 worker.

really depends on where you live....i pay $125 a week for my 4 year old and when the baby goes it will be $140 a week for him...thats for up to 10 hours a day for a total of 50 hours a week.its $5.00 per hour after that......my provider charges $5 per hour for drop ins over age 2...$7 if they are under 2 .......or a whole day rate for drop ins is $30 for over 2 and $40 if they are under. and she is a home provider on a miltary base so she can only have 2 under age 2 at a time and a total of 6 children under the age of 8.

I pay my daycare provider $3.00 per hour. It may seems cheap, but she a military provider and gets re-imbursed through the military for another $3.00 an hour. So she makes $6.00 an hour per child. She cares for one infant, my toddler, and two school-age children after school. So it is 2 to 1 most of the day, which is excellent.

4 babies to one adult seems high to me. Is there a helper that works as well? If not, the one providing care to your child may be very stressed and not able to give your child as much attention and care as he/she needs. I suggest trying to find a neighbor or friend or family member to care for your child for those few hours. Daycare centers are often breeding grounds for bacteria and contagious sickness. Think about it: do you want your child mouthing a rattle that another possibly sick child just slobbered all over?

I pay $30.50 a day for my 3 year old up to 12 hours. I know once the baby comes it'll be a few $ more a day for him/her. Luckily they'll only be in school 2 days a week.

Wow you just reminded me to call them and put myself on the baby waiting list for Nov (due in Sept).
