I have a 5 1/2 week old baby boy. I just wanted to see if anyone knows when you are suppose to get your period again (besides the initially bleeding from having a natural delivery)? I did bleed for like 2 weeks afterward but I just wanted to know does it just start like normal again?

Also I talked to my pediatrician because my little angel eats alot for his age I thought. He eats easily 4 oz. every 2 hours and more times than not he can eat up to 6 oz. My ped told me to give him a tbsp. of rice cereal twice a day but I thought you shouldn't start that till a minimum of 3 months old? I also had a friend tell me to do corn strach because it isn't as heavy? I would appreciate any feedback.

My DH and I are adopting a baby that we expect to arrive in the Spring. Will long sleeve gowns along with long sleeve sleep and play's be too hot for our little one. People always say that babies need one more layer than we do, but what has been your experience?

Recently I had to take my 10 months old some to my family doctor instead of his pediatrian because the ped. was on vacation and my son was sick. He is teething super bad right now cutting all 3 of his top teeth. So he has excessive snotty nose, along with a little sore throat, and cold symptoms. No ear infection though. Well my doctor gave me a sample of clarinex syrup and sad I could give him 2ml 1 time per day. I have given it a few times and it helps so much with the stuffy snotty nose. But, I am curious is this really a safe medication for a 10 month old?? I would appreciate any help I can get. Thank you!!

My 2 month old son does not seem to like going out much and gets anxious and fussy most times we leave the house ..... he seems to get nervous in places he doesn't know... and I've made sure he's fed and rested normally so why does he re-act that way? Anything I'm doing wrong and what can I do to relax him?

My 5 month baby started sleeping well (8pm - 7am) and only waking once for a feed. Recently she wakes several times during the night and cannot settle herself anymore so we have to pick her up and hold her until she falls asleep again. Sometimes she even starts crying in her sleep the second I put her down again. If we leave her to cry too long she throws up so it is difficult to leave her as well. Could she be teething? Are most babies like this during teething and do they go back to their old routine eventually? A tired mummy:(

I was wondering how often you guys use your baby monitor...

I received one at my baby shower, and I have never used it. In fact, my daughter is 10 weeks old, and the monitor is still in it's sealed packaging. I am considering returning it, and here's why...I work 8 hours a day, so she is normally at a sitters for at least 8.5, I am never more than 10 feet from her in the evenings, and we co-sleep, because I breastfeed. Even if we weren't co-sleeping, she would be in the same room, because I'm a single mom, living with my parents, so only one bedroom for us.

Should I take the monitor back, or keep it?

He's never really been fussy like this before? We are staying with my in-laws for a few weeks while my husbands gone training for a new job, I'm stressed and I know that can affect the baby too. But, there's no other symptoms except a lot more fussiness throughout the day, and the things I can usually do to console him don't work as well. One minute he'll be fine and smiling and kicking around the next he's starts crying, like that coughing type crying? Do babies have fussy periods even when they didn't during the normal "colicky period"????Thanks 1st baby!

My daughter has just turned three months old, and is very left-dominant - she flails her left arm more than her right, she kicks more with her left leg, and she turns her head to the left usually - she also turns her head more easily to the left than to the right. It isn't like she can't use her right side, but she definitely has more of an issue with it. I've read in a number of baby books that infants aren't supposed to favour one side of their body more than the other until toddler age - should I discuss this with her doctor, or am I being paranoid? I don't mind if it just means she's going to be left-handed, but if it's a developmental issue, I'd like to know.

the cold medicine we have for her age is for cough only, so of course she has a sore throat and is all stopped up. (I can tell she has a sore throat because my husband and I have just gotten over the same cold and her voice is hoarse.) We have a de-humidifier and she is sleeping on an incline. Any other suggestions?
