Every child is different. My daughter was born 8.7, and at three months she weighs 14 pounds. My friends' daughter was born 6.7, and at seven months weighs only 15 pounds. It varies widely! Infants should gain about a half pound a week, and should double their birth weight by six months, so use that as a yard stick. At five months, your baby should be about two pounds below double his birth weight - but as long as you're seeing your pediatrician once a month, he/she should be keeping track of your son's growth, and will probably alert you if there's a problem. I hope that (really long-winded) answer helps!

there is no average, lol. My first was just over 20 lbs at 5 months, my second was only about 14, depends on the baby, some are bigger than others.

around 10-13 pounds if I remember correctly, but each child is different, so unless there is an extreme high or low, I wouldn't worry. My daughter was a little chunk and as soon as she started walking, the baby fat just fell right off and at 8 she is still slim. The important thing is to keep them as active as possible for their age group. Hope this helps!!!

Average birth weight in the United States is 6-9 lbs. By six months they should double their weight so 12-18lbs is average. However, I know very few babies that have fallen into that range. My son was 8 lbs at birth but was 20 lbs at his 6 month checkup. It also depends if you are nursing or bottle feeding your child. Usually nursed babies are heavier than bottle fed.
