Unusual fussiness in my 10 week old baby????

He's never really been fussy like this before? We are staying with my in-laws for a few weeks while my husbands gone training for a new job, I'm stressed and I know that can affect the baby too. But, there's no other symptoms except a lot more fussiness throughout the day, and the things I can usually do to console him don't work as well. One minute he'll be fine and smiling and kicking around the next he's starts crying, like that coughing type crying? Do babies have fussy periods even when they didn't during the normal "colicky period"????Thanks 1st baby!

If he has a coughing type of crying then could he have a cold or allergies? I would set up a humidifier in his room at night if you haven't already because that could be the cause. Perhaps he is feeling hungry more often and his feeds should be increased. I would make sure that he sleeps in an elevated position because if he is getting a cold then it could be irritating him more to lay flat in the crib. Check him for fever, feel his stomach for gassiness, and also keep tabs of his poops. That could be the cause. If he starts a bad crying spell and you don't know what to do, then put him in the car seat and take him for a drive. If that doesn't work try the swing. If all else fails then lay him on your tummy with his tummy facing you. The warmth will help him relax and could ease a tummy ache. Sometimes going outside for a while for fresh air can also help him. Just keep trying and you'll find a new solution.

nothing is "unusual" for a 10 week old baby, they are still getting used to being in the outside world. Alot of babies do go through a major growth spurt around 2 months so if he is also sleeping and eating alot that may be it. Just being somewhere different could be it and your stress could do it, you never can really tell when they are that little they go through different stages all the time of what works and what doesn't.

When my son was a baby and we would go and spend a night at my sister's or mom's it is like he knew we were not home. He would not sleep and would cry.
I thought something that had to be it because he wouldn't go on like that while we were home. When we went home the next day he was not at all fussy. I think they know they are not home.
