my ex-girlfriend has just given birth to a baby boy, there was 2 suspecting fathers. she is white as am i the other guy is asian.
The baby appears to be white with a hint of jaundice he also appears to have my eyes, ears and feet.
However the midwife as today said he is a mixed race baby, and sometimes they are born white and later thier skin pigment changes, she could tell this by the baby's darker than caucasian genital area.
any ideas on this, is it still worth me going for a dna test or waiting 6 months to see if is skin gets darker

Well, do you want a DNA test now so you don't get attached then find out he's not your's? The skin pigment can take awhile before it shows. So it really is a matter of the heart. Good luck!

Jaundice is a yellowing of the skin and tounge in a baby. I would suggest getting that baby to a Pediatrician NOW! It could be sick and jaudice can be very harmful to a new borns organs and brain development.
Looking at a baby's genitals is a BAD way to determine the father. The best way to do that is a paternity test.
If you are really worried about it go ahead and have a paternity test done though.
Hope it all works out for the best!

I will say get the dna test if you do not wish to be the father.
Seriously, it doesn't have to matter who the sperm donor is, you can still be a father for this child if you want to be.
However to address your racial question, Asians are usually classified by their "slanted" eyes and flatter faces. White people tend to have rounder eyes and not so flat faces. I would put more weight on that, and something like haircolour(because most Asian people do not naturally have blonde hair).

Get the DNA test now, that way a) you are 100% sure it IS your child so you can bond with him without reservation, or b) you are sure it ISN'T your child, so you can step back and fade from the picture, or c) ex-GF can't go back & forth over which potential father she wants to leech child support out of (who has the better job/lifestyle at a given time).
You sound like you really care about him. I hope for your sake that he's your son. :)

Get the DNA test. You might be willing to raise a baby that isn't yours and that's commendable...but you should get the DNA test to prevent any sort of problems down the road.
And whether or not you asked the midwife for her input, she shouldn't be making those sorts of statements.

It was great of the ex to be honest with you and you should go ahead with the dna test just to be certain. Good luck to all of you

I would get the dna test, you don't want this hanging over your relationship. Also you don't want to have doubts that will keep you from bonding.

Get the DNA test. You'll need it anyway if she tries to sue you for child support.

I wouldn't go on skin tone to determine something as important as whether or not this is your child. Get some actual evidence.
