Pregnancy & Parenting - 20 December 2007

My daughter is two years old. Breakfast is fine, she has a little porridge, I guess because she is usually starving by breakfast. It could also be because porridge is fairly sweet.

But lunchtime (usually about 4-5 hours later) are tricky - the only PROPER foods my daughter will eat in any significant amount is hard boiled / fried egg (of which she will only eat the egg white) or porridge (i cant give that to her for lunch too!) or traditional Nigerian soup. Or of course, snacky, sugary foods, which she will consume in abundance if permitted (she is not permitted!)

We tend to cook a lot of rice in our household, and once a week I cook roast lamb, and on another day i will cook pasta. She will barely touch these meals.

Now, the Nigerian soup thing is great, but i cant cook that everyday, its very laborious! I also have her 2 month old brother to care for, there isnt enough time in the day. Even if i could cook that everyday, she cant eat that everyday surely.

I read that you are not supposed to be around microwaves while pregnant, but I don't know if they mean not to be around them while they are on, or not to eat food that has been cooked in one, or both. I don't really use one at home, but I to at work every day. Does anyone know? Thanks

Im 37.5 weeks pregnant and had an ultrasound yesterday. Found out that my baby is large and tommorrow at my appointment I will find out if they will induce me, schedule a C-Section or do nothing.

I had a really bad morning and just need to mellow out and take it easy. My girlfriend is home from college and called me yesterday. I haven't seen her since my shower and would like to see her I just can't do it today.

I don't want to offend her and I think she will take it the wrong way. Whats a nice way of saying I just can't right now?

i have been with my fiancee for a year now and we have been sleeping together for 9 of those months . through them nine months we have not been using contraception but how and ever we dont have sex every day it could only be once every week or soometimes every second day and sometimes it might be once every fortnight . partly because we are not living together yet. there are two girls on my block who have slept with countless men and they have become pregnant but when i explained it to the doctor he told me its difficult for girls who have slept with alot of people to get pregnant because it damages you . i havent slept with many people and i had a smear test and that came back fine . i just cant iunderstand why some people take ages and others get pregnant really easy . im starting to think il never conceive. please help

Okay December 1st i got a kidney infection from a bladder infection. I have NEVER had either. Then on about december 6th or 7th i started getting these dull annoying headaches. It has been almost everyday since i have had a headache. It normally happens when i starts moving around after sitting. Sometimes it just happens. I am very regular with my cycle and have been on BC pills for about 5 years now. Well we have been talking about having a kid but i still had packs of pills left so we decided to finish those out, but we have gone out a couple times and i forgot about 3 pills because of that. Now i am learni ng the medicine they put me on for my kidney infection was extremely strong antibiodics. I didnt think they were because he told me he wasnt going to give me the antibiodics since they didnt know why it started they were going to give me something much stronger. I'm 29 wks with my first. I feel so antsy. I want her to come out already, but I still have awhile to go.. March 2nd.

My back is killing me! If I'm picking something up from the floor, all my lower back hurts as I stand straight again. My hubby can't massage my back because he's in Iraq :(

Going to bed is a nightmare, I'm tossing & turning for hours. I have 4 pillows all around me & just as I start dozing off, I HAVE TO PEE! So there I go to the restroom. It's like every 15 mins! I end up falling asleep until 4 am!

Now lately, my little girl has been stretching or I don't know what, but I feel a discomfort and pressure "down there" like she's going to come out. Does that mean she's dropped? Or what she doing in there?! Because I haven't felt the foot stabbing in the ribs anymore, and feel more movement in below my belly button.

Any advice or something? What can I do about ALL these things, besides wait? :(

My last period was on Nov 21 2007. Myself and husband tried for child on Dec 8, 9 and 12. My cycle is 32 - 34 days long. Today morning i tried with Home pregnancy test. Unluckily, it was negative. I am feeling extremely tired and having lower backache. I am really stressed whether i will get a positive or not. I got married before a year. ok....how far along in weeks should you be before a quantitive blood test shows positive for pregnancy??? im not far enough along for a urine test soooo does this mean im not far enough along for a blood test as well??? please all answers are helpful...im also one of those that has a low hormone level...i never tested positive for pregnancy till i was 7 weeks, will this be the same for the blood test???
