I watch this little girl who was very premature when she was born and now at 18 months she is more like a 10 month old. She puts everything into her mouth. Her favorite thing to eat is paper. She bite the furniture, licks the walls, and eats out of the trash. I don't know what to do. I never had this problem with my kids, yeah they would put things into their mouths when they were babies but not to this extreme. I have brought this up with her parents and they told me they don't disipline her or tell her no for anything. So, I took it as they expected me not to do anything. But, I am afraid that she is going to choke on my children's coloring books when she is trying to eat the paper. She refuses to eat actual food but she will eat forgien objects. Any suggestions? I am only one person and unless I keep her in a small space I can't keep her from doing this. I have to take into account that she isn't my child, Any one else have a problem like this, Ideas? help!

I have heard from many parents, boys is harder to raise in childhood- boy are so active when they're young. Girls is harder when they get to teens- they don't listen, and choose boyfriends over parents.

What's your experience like, if you raised both boys and girls?

My 6 yr old stepson has had this problem for the last 2 yrs. He will not poop on the toilet. He will hold it as long as he can. Which is usually until he falls asleep. If you make him sit on the toilet he will hop up & down to stop himself and scream & cry. Unfortunately because I am his stepmother I have no rights to take him to the doctor. I know that his diet is not good either. He will only eat chicken nuggets & pizza. He will make himself vomit if you put a veggie in front of him. From what his father & I are told his mother has taken him to the Dr & told us that we are to give him laxatives. I refuse to give them to him. He is too young to be fed laxatives on a daily basis especially when there is no reason he can't go he just doesn't want to. His father and I have decided that when he comes to our house he is to put on pull ups? Is this a bad idea for a 6 yr old? We have told him if he can't act like a big kid & go on the toilet he will have to wear diapers. Is this harsh?

I was just discussing with my husband that we should get certified for that 'just in case' occurance that could happen to the baby.

If anyone has taken the course how much did it cost you?

My mom never got stretch marks (4 kids) her mom never got them (3 kids)

My mom eats very healthy...

My sister got them like crazy (but she didnt have the best diet and didnt control her eating)
My other sister didnt (she eats a little bit healthier)

If i eat good and dont put on a ton of weight not associated w/ pregnancy- can i still get them?

If they are still in school. i.e, I'm almost 25 working on a masters degree. My parents still support me a lot. I pay my own rent, tuition, and spending money. I live on student loans which is difficult. My parents pay my health insurance, car insurance, cell phone bill, clothes, and give me extra money if I need it. They paid for my undergraduate education and I'm so thankful and appreciative of everything they do for me. Sometimes I just feel so bad especially because of my age. They buy me tons of stuff for Christmas, like probably over a thousand dollars worth of stuff. I feel bad because I can't afford to buy them much (unless it's with their money). Most of my friends are married and some have children. I'm still single and not sure what I want to do after school.

I'm 20 years old and currently in college. For a little over the past year, I've had this uncontrollable urge to be a mother with my long term boyfriend who I've been with.. I love him and he loves me. Since I'm still in school, we're deciding that we should wait to have children. It's hard for me to suppress this desire I have... It doesn't make sense that I have it anyways. I've been through a lot... I raised my older sister's premature son for quite some time (that was in my teen years 15-17). He more than likely has ADD and other problems (he also was very sick which made him need care 24/7) yet those never got to me. My oldest sister actually said he made her never want to have kids. Why didn't he have this effect on me? How can I minimize this desire so that I can get through school before having children?
P.S. My nephew was also denied from a few daycares because of his large amount of problems.. why didn't I ever have a problem with them??

can she still get pregnant?

2007-12-20 14:26:41 · 32 answers · asked by Robert & Mandy V 2 in Pregnancy

My boyfriend says that is enough. That he won't really care what he gets. Also my parents and his got him a lot of stuff too. He says I act like he needs 16 presents.

I feel like a crappy parent only getting those three things. What I got was a bus with little people in it, a semi carrying about 10 cars and one of those doodle pro's. I think coming from the parents should be a lot more than that.

All my boyfriend got was underwear, socks and white t-shirts for Christmas. So he has never really been in Christmas mood. My parents always tried to make Christmas the most exciting day of the year and I want that for him too. I think he just does not want to spend the money buying presents. Whenever he has this attitude I am like uuuh it's Christmas. I just don't understand him.

So your opinion?

PS:My son is two and a half.

It sounds so silly. But Im breastfeeding full time and only in serious need will I give my baby formula. For example if I run out of breastmilk to go, I make her a 4 oz bottle of Similac Advanced so I can take everyone to school in morning. Now I noticed when I give her this she goes without taking a poop for up to 3 days after that 1 : 4oz bottle! Now the last time I gave her only 2 oz of the stuff when we had to make a run out and she didnt go poopie for 4 days 6 hours! She just turned 2 months on the 19th. Her pediatrician told me today that it was because breastmilk cause constipation, I find this very hard to believe, because before all this started with the formula and non poopie diapers she had the seedy yellow breastmilk poopie diapers atleast twice a day if not more. She has many wet diapers everyday. My questions are: Did anyone go through this? Does breastmilk really cause constipation?? Do I need to have my pediatrician go kick rocks??? Thanks to all who reply.

So what now??

I was just a boytoy to someone who pretended to be a friend. I confirmed it, she essentially confessed.

So what do I do about the ***** now?? She's actually my co-leader in a relatively fun school club so I can't just blow her off.

Need to maintain a civil relationship.

But where do I go now? I'm not really "heartbroken" b/c honestly, she's a *****.
But I don't really know what to do next. How do I treat her? How do I act around her?
I feel pretty used right about now,

ps- anyone got any good songs for this situation??

I have been struggling with something frustrating. My sons mother and I have been arguing back and forth abo ut how she thinks that guns pre-dispose boys to violent behavior and by playing with toy guns in thier minds it makes violence with real guns OK. My argument is that violence is born from a violent spirit boys like guns. We will make mashed potatoes out of guns. My MOM banned guns in my house growing up and I am in love with weapons because I am guy. Never killed anybody. I think girls playing house and caring for babies (with no husband in sight) could be the same. No more do girls playing with dolls makes them whores/teen moms, does boys with toy guns makes them a gangster/thief/maniac. My boys should be playing with guns! It's in thier genes!

If I put my daughter down, she screams everytime and wont stop. If I hold her, she stops. She is 2 months. All her docs say it is colic, but one says sounds like she has separation anxiety. Any tips how to break this? She does not have reflux and I have tried all the swings and sligs and carriers and wraps.

My ex and I had some issues...he's abusive. Never to our daughter, but she has terrible tantrums and I feel as though she's too old. She's 6. What is that about? The other day she didnt want to eat when we had gone out with a friend, and she was crying and stomping. She even stood up on the chair...she dug both of her hands into the pizza that the waiter hadn't even sat down on the table, and wiped her hands down my shirt. I don't want to spank her? Just sassy and I don't know her sometimes. There's this thing...maybe for comfort? She HAS to put her hand up my shirt and rest it on my breast? And my friend gave me advice but it didnt work. She has a fit if she cannot do that. She has to sleep with me becuase she has to do that. She even does in public. Help me?

How often have you HAD to use your middle name? Although there is a section on most forms for a middle name, it is not mandatory, right? When is it mandatory?

Also, when do you use all three of your names together (first, middle and last?) For me it is always been either my first and last name or my first and middle name. I think the last time I was used my first and middle name together was when I made my Confirmation at 13.

Thanks for the info. I'm just curious. It will help me in my decision process.
