It is common that teenagers will have some curiosity about sex and briefly take a look. Unfortunately, today's pornography has some dangerous elements that weren't there several years ago. The ability to get it on demand, in extreme privacy and to a specific interest (or intensity) makes it far more powerful than it was "back in the day". Within a few clicks a person can go from mild stimulation to hardcore (even illegal) graphics while the level of stimulation often far exceeds a person's ability to adapt or assimilate...especially a teen. Although porn has been around a long time, it has never reached this level of intensity before to so many.
As some posters have mentioned, they've become addicted and advise against looking. It's not the "harmless" stuff many make it out to be and there is a steady increase in the level and number of people addicted with ruined relationships, spouses and families. It just isn't a good idea.

"face it everyone has looked at porn atleast once in their life if you say no then your lieing"
This is flat-out wrong. I am a normal teen, and I never look at porn. Pornography is disgusting in every sense of the word. Like what Nikki said, it breeds unrealistic expectations of sex, and is incredibly degrading to women. Not only that, there are almost always VERY serious and heinous sex crimes involved in it. I cannot believe that people here find it acceptable.
There are zero benefits from it. You could read a book on sex and learn how to do it. Whoever said it is a right of passage should go slaughter a lion if they want to prove their adulthood. Seriously, it is entirely destructive, and has no redeeming qualities.
Anyone who condones pornography in any way is ethically repugnant and a detriment to the restoration of the thing our society needs most: respect.
EDIT: I am 16, and have gone through puberty for those interested, and who would say "OMG!1!! That will change when j00 gte hormones!" . However, I do have a sense of decency and respect for other people. Clearly, many users here don't.

Even if it's unacceptable they still will, and yes some will have problems. A better question would be "is current pornography causing problems?" From a reading of the world today, early sexualisation of the young seems to be harmful, and rapes seem to be getting more extreme with sodomy during rape increasing. So although porn can help with knowledge about sexual technique, it has Little to offer on understanding human relationships and sexual diseases and dangers and can give the dangerous and inexperienced ideas they would be better not knowing. What amazes me is how there seems to be no debate on violence in games or media. E.g. graphic sex in games is a no-no but decapitation and violence is OK? where's the sense in that? How come the Catholic church comes out against the Golden Compass but not against "Saw" or other violent movies?

I wondered the same thing after I hit puberty, I had a girlfriend, but we were younger, so it wasn't a physical relationship, and going through the mental and physical changes, you start getting curious.
It's 100% normal for a teen to look at pornography, it's curiosity, not wrong. You are learning and trying to understand and enjoying because it is part of our human nature.
So no worries, eventually it will lose it's appeal =]

No.
Pornography is degrading, demoralizing, and disgusting to women. It gives a false sense of what sex is really like, what women are really like, and it can become addictive - leaving the men *and women* in a situation where they depend on it and cannot commit to any kind of relationship. Learning that at a young age, wont help them later in life.
But......they do it anyway.

We can allow the teenagers to look at pornography. Even if you try to stop them they will not listen to your words.

Yes, its not illegal and mostly teens use it as a way to explore their own bodies. I think its a natural thing and nothing that you should worry about if you look at it. It can be seen as wrong, as usually the porn has an X rating on it or something like that, but there isnt really any policying on downloading it from the internet (in terms of regular porn not child abuse porn ect) and as long as the teen does not take it out of control then i see no harm

If it's between pornography and having sex, I'd say pornography.
I don't necessarily agree with it, as it can become habit formigf and a lot of it is unrealistic potrayals of sex and van very degrading to women, but I do understand that teenagers are growing and curious. I would be way more comfortable knowing that my child had looked at a dirty magazine then out sleeping around.

Yes well moderately mature ones like 15 or up. Depends on the type of porn too, I think it's dangerous if developing minds look at too much twisting and degrading stuff, ok I guess you could argue all of it is degrading, but some of it isn't as bad.

I do not think it is acceptable, because at that age, they can receive the impression that what occurs in pornography is normal and healthy, which it isn't.
