I have heard from many parents, boys is harder to raise in childhood- boy are so active when they're young. Girls is harder when they get to teens- they don't listen, and choose boyfriends over parents.

What's your experience like, if you raised both boys and girls?

I have a boy who is 22 months old and a daughter who is 9 years old and from my experience, my toddler son is much harder than my daughter was at his age...he is very stubborn, very whinny, he will bang his head or slap himself if he gets mad, he is only saying 2 words and his hearing checked out fine...my daughter at his age was saying 28 words and was a very calm little girl..they are like night and day!!! They say not to compare but it's hard for me too cause my daughter did everything so much faster than my son...I hear boys are slower and in my opinion, they are!! I love both my kids dearly but if i had my son before my daughter, I would not of had any more children!!

I had three sons and one daughter. GIRLS are MUCH MORE DIFFICULT to raise than boys are ... and NO CHILD is easy when they are teens ... boys don't listen, either, and are likely to choose their girlfriends over their parents. I managed to hang in there with some help, and am very glad my kids are grown (happy and successful, too) and are now having kids of their own. My oldest son, though, wanted ONLY girls, has two, and really is a 'good daddy' (his wife is a good mom, too) who interacts with both girls and spends 'individual time' with each of them every night. THAT is what I did with each of my kids (but I homeschooled mine) and that's why they are all so fine today ... now that they are 'over the rebellious stage' of being a teenager. Whatever you 'get' just take the best care of that child possible, raise them EXACTLY the same way whether they are male or female, and everything will come out fine.

I have 3 girls and 2 boys.
The boys were much more active and harder to keep up with. They also rebelled against mom's authority. Kind of like young roosters.
Neither were HARDER.
If I could, I would go back and do it all over again and not change a thing.

I am a mother of three boys who always wanted five boys
I agree with snowman6 even though I don't have boys and girls to compare!
I can't answer your question since I don't have boys and girls but I am interested in seeing the answers you get.

I have helped my Mom in her daycare for about 20 years. I have a daughter. I would rather raise 5 boys to one girl. But, that's my opinion.

It just depends on the personality of your child, and you wont know that until it's too late. With my children my son was first then 2 years later we had a girl. He is 7, sensitive, caring, thought full, wants to help with everything......she is 5 beats and bullies, does what benefits her and loves money...lol...but I love them both so don't worry about what to have or how to control them parenting is fun!......PS Sexy Mama you should monitor those behaviors your son sounds autistic

Well maybe I shouldn't answer given your stipulation - I raised four boys on my own and loved them all - but I would have *loved* to have had a daughter but it wasn't to be.
I had two older brothers (one sadly died recently) and watched my Mother raising them (great help to me when my boys came along!) but my Mother always said that I was much more trouble *especially* as a teenager - but I don't believe it!
Who knows? - all children are different!
Good luck,
Joan.

I definitely don't have any kids but my mom always says that if she had had the boys first, she wouldn't have had girls. LOL.

What you said made perfect sense and I think it's how a lot of people feel.

Four boys and four girls here. Girls, when they are under twelve are the best. Boys over twelve, second best.
