I've never seen Zachary as a middle name. It's cute and different.

No, why would James be a better middle name than Zachary? I think both the names you like are nice - my favorite being Liam Zachary (which btw I think sounds much nicer together than Liam James). Zachary is also much less common than James. Nicholas Zachary is nice also, but both names are so long so it's more of a mouthful... Liam Zachary has a nice flow to it... in my opinion!

James doesn't flow very well with Liam or Nicholas. But Zachary Nathaniel sounds very nice.

I don't really like the name Liam.
But I love Nicholas Zachary.
Nicholas James is cute too, but I'd go with Zachary.

Nicholas is a boring first name. James is a common middle/first name. (both are okay though but not as good)
Stick with Liam Zachary to be a little uncommon but familiar.

Liam Zachery is nice, I would use James as the middle name with Nicholas. Nicholas James sounds nice too.
I like Zachary Nathanial also.

I luv Liam Zachary just the right amount of syllables to roll of the tongue. Nicholas James would be a better choice if you prefer Nicholas as the first name .....Best wishes
