Pregnancy & Parenting - 6 November 2007

Just out of curiousity, I was wondering if there were any women with similar experiences to share with me, as I'm a little freaked out right now.

I'm way too early to be going into labor. Doc said to take it easy for now, and he'll give me some kind of meds, if necessary, but of course, I can't help but stress a little bit.

My Stats:
32 weeks pregnant, dilated to 1.5 cm, 20% effaced, contractions (which I don't feel, but were in the 80s on the monitor - every 12 minutes) baby is still breech, and lost my mucus plug at about 18 weeks or so. I have a secondary c-section scheduled for December 27th.

With my first baby, I lost my mucus plug at 34 weeks, and was dilated at 3cm for two weeks before going into active labor at 36 weeks and 6 days, and had to have an emergency c-section because my daughter couldn't pass through my pelvis - she weighed a whooping 8lbs 9oz at that gestational age!

Any input/advice is appreciated. Thank you.

Hi. I have a 5-month old, whom I am nursing. I was wondering if it is ok to drink green tea and if she might have any reactions to it.
See, the green tea that my husband bought doesn't say anything about having caffiene or not. For the ingredients, it says, "green tea".

ok im like 27 weeks and 4 days so pretty much 7 months well this morning my legs started hurting me really bad to where i couldn't sleep well leg started buggin me like last night not that big of a deal then i came home from a friends house and layed down and when i got up it hurt like i had really bad sharp pains and it has lasted all day and is hurting now doc just said drink water ain't helpin i know my stomic was like really hard and he kept pushin on it and he kept kicking the hell out of me when i had the pains does anyone know what this could be i hope not like getting close to labor or somthing if it hurts should i go to the hosp plz help me out

so yeah. I am 16 years old and i think i am pregnant. i dont know what to do. like i am suppose to be starting my period sometime this week. but my breast are REALLY sore. and my stomach has been killing me since like 4 or 5 days after me and that guy had sex. so idk what to do. My son will be 2 in December & has been wearing size 5 diapers for awhile now. However, the past couple weeks he seems to be peeing through his diapers overnight. Can't figure it out cause we haven't changed anything & we always change his diaper right before bed. The diapers don't seem too small but the only thing I could think of is that he needs a bigger size?

he's only had one poopy diaper early this morning. he is formula fed. he has passed some gas today, and he has not been crying like his tummy was upset. is this normal or something i should call his doctor about.
don't say I need to nurse because i tried the first two days and he screamed the whole time and would not even try to latch on. I really feel more comfortable bottle feeding him.

I can' t seem to find a name that I like for my book. At this point, her name is Larken, but i don't like it that much anymore. I need a name for a girl who in the beginning of the book comes from the poor side of town but later on discovers that her real family is from a royal blood line. So i need a name that's fancy but possibly has a plain nickname that she could go by.

By the way, the story takes place in London, and her character is curious, romantic and shy, she's also a good singer.

I've tried Baby names sites, but I haven't found anything I really liked or that fit. Thanks in advance!

I'm trying to stop my little one from opening doors, and drawers. I have the brand safety first, using their cabinet
& drawer latches, and the ones with the tension release strap, but i find the sticky stuff holding them in place, just fails...everytime. I sick of wasting money on a product that doesn't work. What can I use to stop my child opening drawers, cupboards, shower doors......if you know something that definately works let me know..

This evening, while getting my daughter's dinner ready, I gave her the phone to play with. I guess that she dialed 911, and left it sitting in the kitchen floor for a few minutes. I noticed the phone turned on, and turned it off. They immediatly called me back, and I explained that my baby had been playing with it. Then about 30 minutes later, the cops showed up! They laughed about it, but they had to check my house just to be sure I wasn't being held hostage or anything. They were really nice, and said that it happens all the time.
However, my house was a mess! I always clean after she goes to bed, so there was laundry in the floor, toys everywhere, and her dinner still sitting there. Plus, she still had squash smeared across her forehead and I didn't even have a bra on!LOL
They wouldn't call social services for a messy house would they? I made a comment about the mess and one of the cops said that he garaunteed his house was messier.
Should I worry at all?

My daughter wants to be a porn star and she is only 16 years old. I found her yesterday on the webcam posing for some guys. She says she has a nice body and wants to show it off. I told her she couldn't do that and gave her a lecture on it. She yelled at me then ran away for 3 days. She came back just 3 days ago. Me and my husband has always been good parents giving a good example. She said she wants to model for playboy someday and she hopes to be like Paris Hilton and have her own sex tape. She isn't even full 16 yet! She turns 16 in 2 months. What can we do? She hit her father the last time we yelled at her.

i have a nephew who is now 17mths and he still doesn't talk he doesn't even say simple words like dog. my sis said that he has said mum a few times but i haven't heard it. he is a chatter box you cant keep him quiet but its all gibberish should we be concerned?

My daughter will be 3 in 2 weeks and I am very serious about this potty thing. Some days she will go potty all day and she will tell me she has to go,and there are some days like today when she doesn't tell me she has to go potty and she pees all over the floor. I hate to put pull-ups on her because she pees and poops in them without even thinking about using the potty,but at the same time I am tired of picking up pee off the floor. I don't know what to do. I try not to get mad at her because I know I am not supposed to,but at the same time it is so hard because I know she knows she needs to go potty instead of on the floor. Will she just get it one day or do I need to do something else to help her. My first daughter was so easy to train so it is like I am doing this for the first time. Thanks so much for your advice.

Yesterday I had cramping pains from about 4:30 pm untill this morning, I tried treating it as BH , drinking water, lying down on my left side ect but nothing would make it go away but neither did the pain increase. I also experienced shivers . I called my ob/gyn after hours and spoke to teh oncall doctor who was very worried untill he asked if I had recent incourse which I did two days ago so he said teh cramping my a reaction of the nerve ending of my uterus reacting to teh sperm? This is the first I've heard of that lol

Today the pain went away but it's come back but more painful now and I've been having looser bowel movements and softer stools. Moving does not help them so I'm at a loss what it could be , I am 27 weeks pregnant

My son has just turned two. I have set up a big bed in his room with his cot alongside. He is interested in it and jumps up on the bed to play there but I don't know how to make the move - do I just put him straight in there and hope for the best? He is not used to blankets either as he has been in sleeping bags since 3 months old. Any suggestions please?

im 24 weeks pregnant with our 1st....a boy...and he sure moves alot, everytime i want my husband to feel him, the baby stops!!! my husband gets kind of upset...how can i make him move for his daddy, i mean because for me everytime i feel him it makes me soo happy and i just want my husband to feel him too!!!i've felt him kick me how do ii get him to kick his dad too? or just feel him??
