there are a couple of things you could try.

* don't lift your shirt up but slide his hand under your top so the sudden shock of light doesn't stun the baby.

* make him be perfectly quiet and only you talk as maybe his voice makes him stop and listen, where as your voice is 'normal' to him.

* have a big drink of something cold and fizzy before hand as this usually gets them kicking like crazy!

* lay on your back usually gets baby kicking too so try the cold drink, then hand under your top, stop talking and laying down to see if that helps.

Don't worry about it too much. In another 6 weeks or so there will be no way he won't be able to feel baby kicking and actually be able to see your tummy moving when he does!

Best of luck

my little boy didnt want to move for daddy around that time either, i swear its because his hand sits heavier on my belly than mine does, i think the baby knows that. but im 29 weeks now and hes been feeling him for a while, just wait about 2 weeks and his kicks should start getting alot harder and then not only will he be able to feel them, he will see them too!!! when my husband put his hand on my belly and he stopped moving i always teased him saying the baby already doesnt like him .. lol. but this is our first too :D congrats and good luck!!

Same problem with all my kids...but don't worry pretty soon that baby will be soooo big that your hubby won't even have to touch your tummy to know the baby is moving. He will be able to see it!!! But I agree with all the ppl saying cold drinks/sugar/laying down. When you move around its kinda like the baby is being rocked a lot and they sleep and when you stop they wake up and get a little "fussy". Have fun...these are the best times. I always thought this part of pregnancy was soooo romantic.

Orange juice helps. My husband finally figured out that if he sat behind me in the armchair and rested his hands on my belly while we watched tv or something he would eventually feel something. It took about half an hour but he felt what was either a hiccup or a kick (it's hard to tell sometimes, I have the hiccupingist kid on the planet!).

Drink a glass or orange juice (this always gets a baby kicking) and have him just keep his hands on your belly. Also...at this point, you should be able to tap your belly a few times in one spot...and your baby will actually kick there. It's a fun game to play when you are home alone and bored. =0p

But drinking oj does cause your child to become active!

at 24 weeks you may be the only one able to feel the baby move. but try having your hubby keep his hand on your belly for a while after youve eaten and see if he can feel the baby move. once the baby gets a little bigger it will be alot easier to feel (even see!) the baby move, so you still have plenty of time, dont worry.

well i have heard that cold juice , sugary foods like chocolate or fizzy drink , will make your baby more active they use this at the 3d ultrasound clincs to get the baby to move around so i would suggest half an hour before eat and drink something cold and sugary then after 30 min go lay down with your husband and hopefully the baby will start to move around

LOL! My baby does that with my daughter. Every time he hears her he stops moving. You should try a cold sweet drink and lay on your left side. Also, my baby moves when there is anything on my stomach. My husbands arm, a book, a plate ..anything. Maybe he can try resting his hand on your stomach for a little while.. good luck

What worked for me was a little bit of regular coke. My OB didn't recommend I drink it all the time (which I didn't) but he said a glass of coke was fine every now and then especially if I hadn't felt any fetal movement in a while
