I can' t seem to find a name that I like for my book. At this point, her name is Larken, but i don't like it that much anymore. I need a name for a girl who in the beginning of the book comes from the poor side of town but later on discovers that her real family is from a royal blood line. So i need a name that's fancy but possibly has a plain nickname that she could go by.

By the way, the story takes place in London, and her character is curious, romantic and shy, she's also a good singer.

I've tried Baby names sites, but I haven't found anything I really liked or that fit. Thanks in advance!

Charlotte, Imogen, or Freya - they're names that are used in Britain but not really too common over here. I think I like Charlotte that best though, she could go by Charlie or Lotta. =D

For Imogen, um, Jenny? And Freya could be Frey.

Other names used in Britain a lot but not TOO common in the US are Ruby, Amy, Evie, Milly, Poppy, Keira, Phoebe, Molly, Georgia, Bethany, Lola, Libby, Gracie, Niamh (NEEV), Madeleine (Mad-eh-LYN), Matilda (Tilly), Amelie, Harriet, Zara, Francesca, Martha, Eloise, Isla (EYE-lah), Natasha, and Lydia.

I prefer Rosaline, or Rosalie. What about Rosamund also, nicknamed Roz? When you first said Larken, I saw Lark and was about to suggest Wren lol.

Or what about these names: Laurelie, Annabel, Sabine, Elisabeth nicknamed Eli, Ellie, Seth, or Betsy, Betsy-Eliza, Eloise, Charlotte, Lucinda nicknamed Lucy, Olive nicknamed Liv, Molly, Pippa or Philippa nicknamed Pip, Poppy, Dahlia, Cara, Lily, Lilah, Janey, Marguerite nicknamed Maggie or Daisy, Emmeline, Emilia or Emma nicknamed Emmy, Magdalena nicknamed Maggie, Theodora nicknamed Dora, Isadora, Eleanora nn Ellie or Nora, Evangeline nn Evie, Angeline, Ophelia, Penelope nn Penny, Cosette or Colette nn Coco, Therese nn Reese (I don't think that really fits though lol), etc.

My favorite is probably Emmeline or Eleanora - Ellie or Nora are great nicknames.

Good luck writing!

Rosalina doesn't really fit the description that you gave but what about Rosalie? Some other names that I think could work are Annaliese(Anne for short which is a name that has been favored by both royalty and commoners for centuries), Katerina(Kate for short), Theresa(Tess for short), Marguerite(Meg for short), or Lissette(Liz for short).
♥Hope these help and good luck with your story!

I think Eleanor and people call her Ellie/Elle (it would fit with the poor to influential story). Its also very english!

Also Veronica (ronnie), Elizabeth (liz, lizzie, eliza, beth), Andrea (andy, drew, rea), Lillian (Lily, Lil, Ann)

Hope that helps. Good luck with the book

I was actually thinking of this the other day for a script but didn't fit for the time period. How about Jacqueline? And they could of called her Jack or Jackie. :) Good luck!
