I don't really recommend an original name if you're trying to be different. So many kids have been named stuff like De-suqalaloo Shantalekanu that it has become mainstream, and it just makes the poor kid look like her parents were mentally shallow.
The truth is that practically any traditional girl name would be extremely outside the mainstream. Just to throw one out there, take June. Name a girl June today, and she'll never meet another one. Name a kid Daquello, and there might be 2 or 3 in the first grade.

The best I can suggest, in an environment where everyone seems to gravitate to the same name that they think is unique, is to look to your heritage. Are your ancestors Irish? German? Hungarian? etc. If there is a heritage to which you feel some connection, why not look at those names? Google that heritage and names. You will find a plethora of names that will make you feel not only unique, but in touch with your roots! It can be fun (and occasionally you'll get a laugh!).

Well, there's a name I sort of invented, but my boyfriend would never let me name our daughter that because he's too old-fashioned, so maybe you can use it =)
Daelia
Pronounced Day-Leah
It's a combination of Dae, which means bright, and Lia, which means delicate.
Both have nice meanings and either would make a cute nick-name

Give the child a mainstream name. She can switch it around when she's 13 - don't pre-empt/bogart her creativity. This isn't a barbie doll, it's a human being.
Take a reality check, raise the baby & express originality when you get a professional job.
