did any of you work from home or do anything to make some extra income? if so, what did you do?

she is always twirling it and it gets knotted up in the same place like 2 or 3 times a day. so i have to sit there and untangle it and she is fighting me the whole time and of course her hair is getting ripped in the knot. geez, this child! anybody know how i can get her to stop? you would think the time it takes me to untangle it would be discipline enough. she is almost 2 and a half.

I am currently working at a contract job. My 15 year old daughter just came to live with me. We were both living with my parents. She lived with her Dad from age 10 to 15.

She is routintely throwing tantrums in the morning and blaming me for her "failings" in school, etc.

I then come to work late and can not concentrate or really produce at work. I work as an Accountant.

I am thinking of quitting for some time and then taking up a job again after she gets through the transition.

My parents want my daughter to stay with them for some time and I do not want that. That is not the solution. I have to explain that to them. They just make things worse and in fact pushed me to move out and now say that they did not.

my mother in law just came a week ago from Romania and is gonna stay until dec. last time she was here, she was okay and my 1 yr old Melody was only three months old. i was really excited about her coming. now she's here and she's driving me CRAZY! we're in the car and we pull up to wherever we were going. she tries to beat, yes, to BEAT me to get the baby out of the car. last night melody was drinking her milk before going to bed and the woman was putting towels away. i heard the baby, so i was going to her but no, this woman pushes the door in my way so she can get there first. what kind of a person does that?! she's my friggin kid!! now, i'm not done. we went to kohl's for a lil shopping today. i just finished trying on all my clothes and melody was with me walking around the fitting room. i picked her up and put her in the stroller and she threw one of those mondo fits you see on condom commercials. now, i am the kind of person who will get down to eye level and discipline...

I am terribly uncomfortable today. I'm almost 16 weeks pregnant and I'm showing. I also have Complete Previa. I have this sensation that everything is being pushed upwards. It really hurts today. Is this normal?

My Nieces are 9 yrs old and sleeping with their Dad on a constant basis,their Mom died when they were 2,but have slept with their Dad since they were babies..Personally I think its out of line to do now,but he's not much on parenting anyway..He's an alcoholic,ex-con,& has hurt them physically in the past by smacking them in the face...We took care of them while he did time in Prison for 2 years and they have reverted back to their old behavior since he's been back in their lives now for 3 years..I worry about them on a constant basis but don't have the heart to report him to authorities or they would end up in a foster home,as the rest of the family cannot afford to care for them,nor I as I have my own 3 children to care for..
Can you suggest anything to help this situation out?All replies appreciated!thanks-

my 6 yo brother was all "you don't spend enough time with me" this morning. which i don't get, cause I spend a lot of time with him. but i offered to take him to mcDonalds for lunch, hoping maybe that would calm him down. but he said "no, that's not what i mean". he went on to say that with my other brothers and sister (all much older than him), that i spend time with them all the time, and treat them like i do my own friends. and with him, i act like it's a chore. he wants me to treat him like a friend. i didn't even know 6 yo's notice things like that. i don't get it. i play with him, but i'm not going to take him to a concert where teenagers are jumping all over the place. i'll take him to the park, but i don't know. what exactly does he want? every time i mentioned something else, he just kept saying "no, that's not what i want, you don't get it". help!!!!

My husband and I got married 7 months ago. We are now expecting our daughter in December. This is his first child but my second child, my first born is almost 13 years old...so its been a while since ive had a baby!

My husband wants us to host our own co-ed baby shower. Since we are now 1 family he would like to include all sides of the family to this event. We have picked a restaurant and we will being paying for the food.

I feel a lot of tention & confustion since baby showers are traditionally put together by family (my mother) & friends.

How do you pull this off without hurt feelings?

She mentioned that if the baby stays like this, I will have to most likely get a c-section. Is there any way to prevent this surgery. I would love to see my baby born and not all drugged up and under surgery. She mentioned I still have some time that my baby could move in place. I thought babys naturally flip over head down when ready. I am so scared especially after viewing this csection delivery http://youtube.com/watch?v=Pky9DHxH0uo&mode=related&search= . Is there anything to prevent csection delivery????

By inexpensive i mean at most $30 for a top and $60 for a pair of pants. It is rediculous how maternity is so expensive when you only wear them for a short time and they are never good quality. My second pregnancy and my clothes from the last pregnancy look so old

the last time i had sex i was 12 weeks into my pregnancy, we stopped to noticed i was bleeding a little more than usual, so i called my doctor, he seen me the next day, my cervix was closed and he told me it came from my cervix, he told me not to have sex, so i went in for an ultrasound about 5 days later and showed my little baby healthy.
the last time i have seen my doctor was when i was 12 weeks, i have been seeing the practitioner, and i was wondering if its safe for me to have sex again
i mean i was sexually active the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy and everything was fine,which is what i didnt understand why my doctor told me no sex.

could i ask the practitioner about this next time i go even tho she is not my doctor??

i was also wondering if other women think its safe for me to have sex, i won't do anything until speaking with my doctor but i just want to know what other women think

oh and im 22 weeks and 4 days

Hello everyone. I am 22 wks & 1 day pregnant today with my 1st baby. Please answer the following if you can:

1. How many weeks on avg is a woman when she has her first child? How many weeks pregnant were you when you gave birth for the first time?

2. I walk a lot. How will this affect me and my baby?

3. When you get an epidural, do you still stay numb while they're taking out the afterbirth?

Its a friend of mines son. He just says a few words like dada or mama but thats it. I know all kids are different but when my daughter was his age she was saying phrases.

My feet seem to have gone up a whole size after my twin pregnancy and now none of my shoes fit (I wore flip-flops during the whole pregnancy)! The swelling I had before seems to have gone; but now my feet seem bigger & wider. Will they go back to normal or should I just forget about ever wearing my old shoes again?

My doc said today that I am 2 cm and 70 % effaced and that the baby's head is really low, she said that there was no way i would go late that he will be here bythe 22nd his due date and that I probably wont have a long labor since he is so far down. This is my first pregnancy, has anyone's doctor ever told them this and then the baby held out for a few extra weeks. I was throwing up last night for no reason and feel really tired and crampy, hopefully he is on his way??

i have been on the depo shot for 4 years now. I have never been pregnant before, but im experiencing morning sickness. my son is 1 week shy of turning 7 months. his ped advised i strat him on baby food at 4.5 months because of his size and interest in food. at first, he did great, ate everything i gave him and was putting away 4 to 6 jars a day! lately, things have changed. i find it very hard to get him to eat baby food at all anymore. he yells at me, spits it out and leans forward on his highchair tray and closes his mouth shut. what makes this even more frustrating is that my mom insists that he eats great when with her. what am i doing wrong? he eats nearly 40 ounces of formula a day and seems to be gaining weight. my doctor told me to increase his baby food intake, but i feel like i'm losing my mind and i feel like bursting into tears while feeding him now. is this normal? why would he eat the same amount for grandma and not me or his dad? please, say it gets better! any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Did you have your child diagnosed through the local government? If your child has a condition like 'sensory processing disorder' are you glad or sorry you got them diagnosed? Is it better to just get private treatment, or does the government provide good services? Any information would be helpful?
