I am a mother of 3 healthy grown children....I'll do my best.
#1. 40 weeks is the average length of a normal pregnancy. I went 40 weeks the first time.
#2. Walking will IMPROVE your health, thus help ensure a more healthy pregnancy and delivery.
#3. The epidural will last for a little while after the delivery of the baby and the afterbirth. Honestly, you won't feel the delivery of the afterbirth anyway.....
Also, I would highly recommend the book "What To Expect While You're Expecting". It addresses every aspect of pregnancy with caring and precise answers. You can buy it on www.amazon.com. Some OBs give it to their patients (mine did).
Best of luck.

2. Walking is very good I should have done more of it
3. Im not so sure about this.. part of my placenta ripped off and fell out the other part was still attached, I wouldnt stop bleeding and the doctor * Sorry if this is gross * litterly had to reach up there w. his hand and pull it out.. and let me tell you I felt it all!!!!! to this day I feel like the recovery and afterbirth is 100% worse then actual labor. I loved the epidural 15 mins after they gave it to me I feel asleep for 2 hours woke up and 30 mins later had my baby =-)

1. Most women go late with their first baby. Everyone who saw me said I was going to have the baby any day. The doctor I worked for had me stop 3 weeks sooner, cause she thought the baby was coming early. 2 days after my due date my water finally broke and I was induced. My best advice is plan on going late. I was so disappointed that I did not go early.
2. As long as its comfortable...walk! I didn't get much of it in, although I wish I did. It can have nothing but a positive effect on you and the baby.
3. The epidural lasts for awhile, like a few hours after labor. So yes, it is still working when you deliver the placenta. It is the same type of feeling as when the baby comes out, only way less intense (just feels like a release of pressure)!
Good luck and Congrats!

1. I would assume the average is between 38 and 40 weeks. I had my first two days before her due date. The second one came four days after his.
2. Assuming this is not a new hobby, walking is good for you and the baby. Keep doing it as long as you can within reason. This will help you when it comes time to deliver.
3. Yes, you should still be numb when the placenta comes out.
Good Luck!

Hi-congrats on your first pregnancy! I am 23 weeks along with my 4th, so I will help with my own experiences:
1. The first two times I delivered 5 days before my due date. The third was 3 weeks early.
2. Walking is great for you and your baby. Keeps you in shape and prepares your body for labor. Good for you!
3. All three times I was still numb for delivery of the placenta-I felt nothing.
Good Luck :)

#1 - I was 39 weeks 6 days when I had my first.
#2 - Walking is good for you during pregnancy, or so Ive read and heard.
#3 - I had an epidural for all 4 of mine and didnt feel a thing for the first 3, my last one I wasnt frozen at all until after everything was out cause I got it too late, I was getting the urge to push while I was sitting on the edge of the bed getting the epidural, they laid me down and she was out. It was awesome to finally feel something and this time around Im gonna try to do it without meds. Wish me luck and good luck to you as well!

1. Women usually give birth at 38-42 weeks.
2. No, walking is mild exercise which is good. The only thing you shouldn't do is add too many things to your normal routine. Unless your doctor says you shouldn't, walking is okay.. your body is used to it.
