i have a 5 year old daughter, and her behavior is awful. sometimes i think she's bad just because she knows she can get away with it, but im also wondering if she has ADHD. she breaks and rips things, she is very disrespectful to both me and my mother (im a single mom, no dad in the picture) she has hit me, swears at me, kicked at me, does not listen to me, she does not pay attention sometimes and i am wondering if it is because she can't. i love her and would do anything for her but i dont know what to do anymore. *nothing* works. im dreading parent-teacher conference day- she's in kindergarten- because im afraid the teacher will think i'm a lousy mom, but there is only so much i can do. she never listens to me. please help!!

My boyfriend and I just got back together about a month and a half ago and we hvent been having protected sex. I was supposed to get my period about two weeks ago and all I got was a little spotting that lasted for a few hours. my boobs have been sore but not incredibly painful and ive been getting mildly queasy lately. I havent been feeling 100%, Ive been exhausted and falling asleep in class, I get aggravated easily, Ive been going pee alot more than usual aswell. Ive taken two at home tests and both came up neg. is it a possibility that im preg or could it be something else? I really woudl appreciate any insight so I can put my mind at ease, Im still in Highschool so its a little scary. . . please help. . .

I have a friend and he's 25 years old. Well he stupidly had sex with a 16 year old 2 1/2 months ago....she had her period a week later and now she is pregnant. I told him the baby probably isn't his. Well her mother told him that her daughter ovulates 24/7. How stupid is that? And he believed her. Plus the 16 year old told him she doesn't want to date him anymore...wouldn't you think if he was the father she'd want to be with him? I think her mother just told him that crap because she knows she's stuck with her daughter until legal age and that my friend is 25...has his own house and car and wants him to take care of her. What do you think?

At what age should a parent stop holding, cradling and rocking their child to sleep?

My husband’s niece is eight years old and will be nine in six months and his mother will physically rock her to sleep sometimes. The child will play with my mother in-law’s ears and nose until she doses off – it’s almost like it pacifies her. Also, the child is in a habit of crawling into their laps instead of sitting down in a chair or on the couch. For instance, my father in-law will be sitting on the couch and the child will crawl up into his arms, feet and all, and he will cradle her like a newborn infant. If she gets scolded about something (which is rare) my husband will pick her up and hold her. It looks somewhat abnormal because I am 30 and 5’2” and this child is tall for her age. Not as tall as me but too big to be acting like a baby.

We are buying a house and really want to get a counter height table for our dining area...but are concerned about our one year old falling off of the higher chairs when she is old enough to come out of the high chair and sit in the chair without a booster seat.

Does anyone have a tall table and chairs, and how do your kids do in them? Our daughter is very squirmy and I don't think it is going to change any time soon!

I was at my daughter's grade school this morning volunteering. I saw a student who's mother suddenly passed away this weekend. This woman was my childcare provider about 6 years ago, although I do not think the child would remember me from that. At first I was taken aback that the student was at school, the funeral was 2 days ago, then I felt I should say something. When I saw the child was coping well, I changed my mind in fear of sending her into a meltdown. Do you think I did the right thing?

I really need some help, okay..I don't care if it's illogical or not, you don't really know the situation and I feel no need to elaborate on it..but is there any way.....that I could jump start labor myself..make my water break..or make contractions start? I mean...should I run around the house like 20 times..or anything like that?

I have heard that you should bring it up to your Dr if this happens. I dont know how to bring it up to her. Should I and if I should how to bring it up?

Missed my period and so on. Took a test yesterday morning for it to be negative so decided to take another in 1 week. However, all yesterday I felt little tiny cramping like the onset of my period, but my little tiny cramping tends to only happen within an hour of two of actually starting. This morning I awoke to excrutiating pain at 2 am. This type of pain was normal over 4 years ago before I got pregnant with my first, but has never happened since. And since cutting dairy out of my diet, those tiny cramping have been almost non- existent. So my main question is could I have miscarried or is my nearly painless periods luck run out?? I am asking for personal experience at this week time period because the books don't talk much on it! And I don't want to just go to the doctors because we are military and all other military I have spoken with that miscarried so early got routine DNC's even though they really aren't nescessary when the baby is still just a compilation of cells!!

Is this normal? Does it mean that she is not ready do you think? I've tried putting them in her mouth but she scrunches it shut and turns her head away. So I leave them on her highchair tray (things like, puffed wheat, small pieces of banana, cheerios, baby cookies etc) and she still won't touch them.

Like if you tell a six-year-old that he can't do what he wants, is it normal for him to scream and seem to have a meltdown?

I don't have kids... but it seems like I've had friends with 4-year-old children that know better...

What do you think?

hello all, I am 8 weeks preg. I have noticed down there my smell is wayyyyy different than it was before i was preg. Its stronger and smells kind of nasty. Did any of you notice a change in the smell down there when you were pregnant. I don't think its an infection, could being preg cause a change like this?

For the past few months I've been carrying very high and unable to sleep in bed because lying down, even with a lot of pillows, makes it impossible for me to catch my breath. Now I'm 29 weeks and last night I skipped the recliner and slept flat in bed because my hip hurt -- and I had zero trouble breathing. My husband swears the baby's a little bit (but not significantly) lower, too!

I called the doctor and they weren't concerned -- seems the baby has changed position -- and since I haven't had any bleeding/contractions/uterine cramps/amniotic fluid they said not to worry.

Has anyone's baby started to drop at 29 weeks or thereabouts? They said it's not unheard of and it doesn't necessarily mean that labor is imminent but I'm curious as to your experiences.
