I know I have a lot of flamers here and a lot of haters that have been reading up on every pessimistic question I've asked on here, but I'll tell you why I'm a bit resentful and obsessing on the pregnancy thing so much lately. I took a pregnancy test today and as suspected for the last couple days, I'm pregnant.

I know who the father is, because I haven't been with anyone since that one occurence almost a month ago or for 3 months before that. The guy is a good guy friend of mine that I somewhat coerced when we were drinking together at a party a month ago.

So now all my hypothetical "abortion" and "raising kid" questions aren't hypothetical anymore. Go ahead, flame me. You'll probably tell me to get an abortion & that I have "issues" which would interfere w/ raising a kid. But you also know that I'm against abortion. I want to raise this kid, & to prove to everyone that I can. What do you think of this idea? Do you think I'd do well with it?

I am 33 weeks and we're naming the baby Kenneth after my father-in-law. It wasn't my first choice, but it means a lot to my husband and it's starting to grow on me.

What does everyone think of the name Kenneth? What image does it bring to mind?

I was thinking of Owen as a middle name. Any suggestions for a middle name, preferebly beginning with O or A?

My three month old eats 6-8 ounces every three hours, it seems to be alot to me, and was wondering if it was normal. She already eats rice cereal which doesnt seem to fill her up and now we were told to start her on oatmeal. She still wakes up every three hours at night for food and I have noticed that she is gaining alot more weight from eating so much so often. (she is bottle fed). Does anyone have any suggestions to keep her full longer?

Recently, my 14 month old decided she wasn't going to drink her milk anymore. She used to LOVE her milk but now I can barely get her to drink a cup a day. I'm afraid she isn't getting enough calcium throughout the day because she also won't eat a lot of calcium rich foods like cheese or yogurt. I was thinking of adding chocolate or strawberry flavoring to the milk but does this destroy the nutrients? Any suggestions how to get her to drink milk again?

Yesterday was our 20 weeks scan with sonographer.
We expected it to take long time and do very detail checking of the baby, but it took maybe 15 to 20 minutes and I don't know if it was detail scan. To us, she was more like in a hurry.
I wanted to know if yours were same way or took longer time? I know there is 2nd level scan done, when the blood test and the first scan result raises a flag, right?
We are planning to ask our OB next Monday to find out about the result and also we will ask him about if that the 20 weeks scan we had done in a short time is normal...Please let me know how yours were...

We have taken him to the doctor, it was not a yeast infection, we change his diapers promptly, use the good old Pampers brand diapers and their sensitive wipes, and we have tried corn startch, zinc oxide cream, petrolium jelly, baby powder, the only thing that remotly helped was Neosporin, any suggestions?

The house was vacant so we know nothing from the old neighbors about the new ones. Saw a mom out there briefly with about a 7 year old boy checking out the place - so I have some time to think about this as they havent moved in yet. Guessing they're local too then.

Problem is, my husband nor I am very good cooks. Any ideas?

2 miscarages in 6 months, i went to docs for some help, she told me i need to loose weight & be more possitive, im only a size 16-18 & i have seen fatter people then me getting pregnant, how can i be positive when i have just lost 2 babies!!! she said that she wont help me with treatment untill i am 22-23, as im only 20 now, am in a good relationship, due to get married, and have my own property, she says that im not old enough or ready for a child, me and my partner have been trying for 2 yrs now and i dont know what is wrong, i can get pregnant but just cant carry it. she was very rude & didnt really care, i know she had to be honist but she could have been nicer about it, she also said that their is only a 10% chance that i would ever carry full term, its so hard & i want to know has anybody else gone through this and been successful (or not) and to have other views on this and what to next. please help me cos im going out my mind.

*sigh* I am 11 weeks pregnant and had a TERRIBLE morning sickness which is now almost gone. I am 5 5' and my normal weight is 118-120lbs. I usually eat a LOT but keep the same weight always. BUT I have the type of body that if I do not eat well for some weeks, I start losing weight fast!

Now due to my HORRIBLE morning sickness, I am now 112lbs and I am not gaining weight because my stomach shrank or something! I am able to eat good but NOT at the amount I used to eat before! I am very frustrated because I know I need to put on some pounds for this pregnancy to be good.

My doc did not seem concerned at all, but I am. Could you all please give me some healthy but fattening foods for me to eat so I can put on some pounds quick?

Thanks a lot!

I don't have any close friends with children and so I really don't know any parents with children. I talk to about three parent's at my child's playgroup but we're not really close, so I would feel kind of uncomfortable inviting them to my child's party, my family would be there as well.

I was thinking maybe I could invite some neighborhood children to my daughter's third birthday party, and have pizza and entertainment for the kids.

Or I was thinking of forming a stronger frienship with other parents so that they would feel comfortable coming to my child' party.

What should I do?

The Bell Curve asserts that the USA encourages the wrong women to have babies (uneducated, young, unmarried, etc.) by giving tax breaks, WIC, welfare, etc. The writers state that the US should encourage the RIGHT women to have babies: namely, those with high IQs (who also tend to be educated, married, and financially stable). What do you think of this?

I am taking him to the county fair on Sun and it will be hard to keep a hold of him. Would you use a stroller or get a wrist leash? I don't know if the are called leashes or not, but I don't like the harnesses if at all possible. What is your opinion. I just want to keep him safe.

My baby is 7 months old, and she has been sick since last saturday. I think it's just a cold but she coughs so hard she looses her breath. I've been giving her the cough medcine my dr. prescribed to her last time. But the cough is still not better, in fact it sounds worse than it did when she first got sick,so this has been going for about week. Her nose has also been runny, first clear then it turned greenish yellow looking, she has not been running fever.I just feel dumb for taking her to the doctor because they have already told me babies get sick alot this young, what do yall think?

My 3 yr old daughter has gotten used to wearing sandles and "crocs" all summer. Now that preschool has started (where she has gym) she refuses to put gym shoes on. When I say refuses, I mean screams bloody murder, cries, begs, pleads, runs, hides under the bed, resists...one time I finally just pinned her down and put them on and she just kicked em right off. I've asked her why she doesn't want to wear them but she just screams "No!" or "I want my sandle shoes!" I've even offered ice cream (one of her favorite rare treats) and she passed it up. This has been going on for a month now...the cold weather is just around the corner and she can't very well wear sandles in the snow! Has anyone else ever had this problem? Why do you think she hates gym shoes sooooo much? Keep in mind that she's normally very cooperative and that this is the ONLY thing that causes such hysterics. It's like holy water to Damien! Thanks!

My friend and I are both pregnant. She is about 9 weeks and having the worst nausea I've ever seen. She already ended up at hospital once for IV fluids. She doesn't let herself get hungry and is staying away from fatty foods. I don't know what else to do to help her. Its not always in the morning, its pretty much always after a meal, which are small. Any suggestions of any nature would be so greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help.
