bibs can be put on a baby anytime (aside from sleeping unattended)

Though in 18 months of nursing my daughter I never found a need to use one... only for catching drool and spooning baby food in her!!

A bib wouldn't work all that well as the milk generally is rolling out the side of the mouth. (I wish they told you this in class as I hated having wet clothes when done!!)

I would line my lap with burp cloths to help with the leaking milk. Then VOILA! my friend found some "puddle pad" lap pads! They are just like a puddle pad for the bed but about the size of a burp cloth. Those were great. I would put that down with a soft burp cloth over it and it worked great for me. You could buy a regular puddle pad and cut it up if you can't find the smaller ones.

This was better than bibs for me. I have also just lined my lap with towels too.

I hope this helps you! Good luck.

YES! The bib is to keep the clothes from getting soiled. If this is happening at feeding time then use it by all means.

Yes, I put bibs on my daughters when I was breast feeding and it protected their clothes from dribble and spit up after they were done eating.

I don't see why not. I always folded up a burp cloth and tucked it in where it needed to be.

sure.... i usually keep one on my daughter in the daytime since she's a big drooler, and I don't take it off when she's feeding. plus, if she spits up after it doesnt get on her clothes.

sure. They likely won't need it unless they are a real sloppy eater.
