There's no good answer for this. Doing all of those things to stimulate contractions (sex, walking, spicy food, nipple stimulation, etc) will only work if your body is ready to go into labor. Sometimes they stimulate contractions but they'll stop when you stop walking or whatever. The last few weeks of pregnancy can be extremely miserable for some people, but just remember there is light at the end of the tunnel. If something doesn't happen in a few weeks, your doctor will probably induce you, but it's better to happen on it's own if you can. If you are feeling all of that pressure, she is probably engaging herself in your pelvis to prepare to come out. This is normal. Hopefully she'll get her head down there and start putting pressure on your cervix to help it start dilating. Be patient and good luck!!

You're slowly starting the birth process so your baby will be born in the next few days - maybe sooner. Many women go through what your going through right now before they start serious labor. Many times a woman will be dilated to 3cm before she feels her first labor pain and then it progresses very quickly. Every woman is different and every pregnancy is different. For some women labor only lasts a few hours and for others it may last much longer.
When you feel your baby pushing down it means she's getting ready to be born - she's getting into the correct position that she needs to be in.
The best thing you can do at this stage is just relax. Fix yourself a cup of herbal tea, stretch out on the couch and take a nap. Enjoy!

I so understand. The best thing that worked for me was realizing that they could have the due date off by two weeks, so I added two weeks to my "sentence"... sounds silly, I know, but I am also one of those people that sets my alarm clock ahead 15 minutes!
I didn't dialate past 3 with my daughter even through HARD labor, until they broke my water. Don't worry, it will come soon...I know, you are tired of hearing that! Your first contractions will just feel like a tightening or she is swelling up and pushing down at the same time... they don't hurt too bad. You've probably had Braxton Hicks already and haven't noticed them yet - I never did the first time. Every women is different. With any luck, you will be one of those women that goes into labor, dialates and delivers quickly and very shortly! Good luck!

Sorry. I know you want your baby now. I was there. By my third baby I realized something else though. I wanted my birthing experience to be as specail and memorable as could be. So I spent my time waiting and planing how I wanted my first moments and days to be with my baby. So maybe take some time now to think about it so when your baby is here you will remember and enjoy it even better.
Good luck and be patient. Those first days come and go so fast.

Wow you need to relax. It is frustrating to wait at this stage. If you relax it might help things move faster. Be patient, the baby will come.

When you feel pressure like that, you are getting really close.
Hang in there! It's very uncomfortable, but very soon you'll be wishing those contractions would just go away! :)
Good luck!
