Just putting on pounds is not necessarily good for you. It is not uncommon for people to lose weight early in pregnancy, as long as you don't lose too much. I would focus on quality instead of quantity - make sure you are eating a good variety including lots of leafy green veggies, fish, plenty of milk. For a good treat that puts on calories -- try a milkshake, or use diet "shakes" as a supplement.
If your doctor hasn't already given you some medication that can help with the morning sickness, check out what they can do -- my sister-in-law had these problems with several pregnancies -- and has 3 beautiful little girls now so don't be too worried about it.

If your doctor isn't concerned, you don't need to be either. It is not uncommon for people to lose weight in the first trimester of pregnancy.
Fatty foods aren't generally healthy, although nuts and avocados are two foods that are fatty but good for you. You need to eat a balanced diet and stop worrying so much about your weight. Just eat several small meals throughout the day instead of worrying about eating a lot in one meal.
In a few weeks, you will start getting hungry all the time. I am 23 weeks and I still can't eat a ton of food in one sitting, but I am always hungry like 10 minutes after I've finished eating. There's less and less room for your stomach the further along you get - that's why you need to get used to eating frequently throughout the day instead of a lot at once.
Good luck.

Gaining weight to quickly is not healthy for your pregnancy...if your doctor is not concerned than you shouldn't be so worried. If you are so worried you should get a second opinion. My best friend lost 30 lbs in her last pregnancy and gave birth to a perfectly healthy baby. I lost weight for the first half of my pregnancies and then I'd usually start gaining weight after 24 -25 weeks.
Try speaking to a nutritionist, someone with a degree and training for pregnant women. Eating too little or too much, eating the wrong things could harm your baby. I'm not trying to talk bad about this community, it's helped me a lot with a lot of questions, but when it comes to the health of your baby you should be speaking to a trained professional.

You don't need to put on pounds quick. You can expect to gain at least 15 pounds in the last trimester. That means for a healthy pregnancy, between now and 28 weeks, you need to gain only 10 pounds.
Don't concentrate on fatty foods. Concentrate on protein rich, vitamin rich foods. Get about 5 small-normal meals a day. You really only need 200 calories more than usual. A healthy pregnancy is a gain of between 25-35 pounds. Losing weight in the first trimester is completely normal.
Eat veggies, fruits, meat (if not vegetarian), protein, etc. Don't forget prenatal vitamins.

I am having the same problem. I started out at 113 lbs and 5'4" and now I am 13 weeks and 2 days pregnant and I weigh 104 lbs. That is definitely not the right direction but I am trying to eat a lot of pastas and breads and potatoey foods. my doc suggested putting a Tbsp of butter in everything i eat but i haven't done that because i don't really feel like raising my cholesterol that much! My doctor wasn't really worried about it either though even though i just started my second tri-mester. I hope we both start gaining and i suggest the pasta and bread and stuff! good luck!

once the sickness eases off a bit you should start to gain weight.. Even then if you don't it's unlikely to affect the baby as long as you manage to eat healthily..
you don't HAVE to gain weight in pregnancy with my 3 i gained just 2lbs with baby 1
LOST 8lbs with baby2
and stayed the same weight with baby 3..
i felt fine and the babies were ok.......

i lost weight during the first trimester as well. it's not uncommon, and the baby won't be effected this early. it's not until later that they rely more on an increase in food intake
nevertheless, these foods are healthy & fattening! (any fat that comes directly from a plant is healthier)
nuts & nutbutters
avocados
flax

don't worry at all. weight loss is very common in the first trimester. Remember, you baby is only a few ounces anyway!! You will start to gain soon, especally once the morning sickness abates.
