We have taken him to the doctor, it was not a yeast infection, we change his diapers promptly, use the good old Pampers brand diapers and their sensitive wipes, and we have tried corn startch, zinc oxide cream, petrolium jelly, baby powder, the only thing that remotly helped was Neosporin, any suggestions?

'BUTT PASTE'....Come in a yellow box, and kinda expensive (almost $5 for a smaller tube) I have two children and have ALWAYS used this type of diaper rash and it works like a charm. Usually clears up the worst of diaper rash in one night, but most times in just a few hours. A little of this, and some baby powder and your ready to go. Good luck. Hope the little one gets better. :)

My youngest was the same way! He ALWAYS seemed to have a diaper rash... as soon as one would clear another would start. The ONLY thing that would prevent / heal was Flanders Butt Paste. (Positive of the "Flanders" the "Butt Paste" was what we dubbed it... lol) It's one of those that you have to get at the drug store (no prescription needed though) you just have to ask the pharmacist for it. It's pretty pricey at about $8 per tube... but it lasts quite a while b/c it's very thick and doesn't take much to cover. Also, for a REALLY bad diaper rash... I would cover the butt paste with petroleum jelly for an extra thick protective coating and/or cover the rash with antibiotic ointment if the skin was broken in any places BEFORE applying both of the above. And make sure to even stay on top of those wet diapers too..... especially if your little one loves juice.... the acid in the urine can really irritate that rash as well.

Good luck and God Bless! Hope this helps.

When did you take him to the doctor ? Cornstarch, baby powder can just feed it if it has turned into a yeast infection. Yeast buds grow very easily in the diaper area as it is an acidic ,warm and moist environment to thrive in. Putting powders on a diaper rash can cause it to turn into a yeast infection. The best thing for a diaper rash is air. It dries it out. We tell patients to use Chux or puppy training pads and to just have their baby lie on one without a diaper or any cream for as long as they can, even at night if you have to. When they do have to wear a diaper, use a really stong zinc oxide paste like Boudreaus Butt Paste to put a barrier in between their skin and the diaper area. Seriously, I can't believe your doctor didn't say anything about the powders. They are not used in the diaper area anymore as pediatricians know that it can cause candida or yeast to flourish. The best course of treatment suggested by any dermatologist or ped would be air, air, air. It will dry up quickly.

Could be that your baby is allergic to the diapers. Where are the good old days, where Babies were put into cloth diapers. Sre you had to wash them and sterilize them. But it was sometimes safer and less in expensive. Nevertheless, try a different diaper product from Johnson & johnson. My aunt in Germany who was a head nurse, alway's loved there products. And if all fails change the Pediatrician.

Try to not use the wipes. My son is so sensitive to them, even the sensitve kind. I had to just use a warm wash cloth with water. It sucked, but then again, I already have more laundry than I know what to do with since I had a baby! Also, some kids are allergic to their diapers. Switch brands or try cloth.

when my kids get bad rashes I use the lanolin wipes. Just for when it's really bad. Then just TONS of Desitin, not the creamy it only had 10% zinc, while the regular has 40%. If neosporin works, read what in it and see if there is a cream with the same stuff in it.

It is a problem because the entire area stays moist and so it is hard to get rid of diaper rash once it develops. I agree, Bag Balm is an excellent solution.

Try changing his/her diet.
When my daughter was an infant, she had the absolute worst diaper rash i had ever seen. I tried everything.
You know what worked the best . . . .changing her formula and when she got a little older; watching what she ate and how it affected her down there!
Good Luck and God bless!
