Next year ('08) is when my husband and I are going to try (due to health reasons) and I was wondering is it worth it to tell people if they're only going to keep asking, "Are you pregnant yet?" They ask me that now! I honestly don't feel it's anyone's business. I was just wondering what other women think.

Our baby must have a low pain tolerance, because she's absolutely miserable while teething. She has four teeth in and is getting two more right now. We've tried everything to help, but she stays cranky, feverish, fussy, not eating, and not sleeping while teething.

Here's what we've tried: Frozen washcloths, teething rings of every type -- cold and not cold, Tylenol, ibuprofen, teething tablets, frozen bagels, large frozen pretzels, Orajel for babies.

Short of getting prescription pain medicine, what can we do? How long will she be going through this? Doesn't it get easier with each tooth? Why is it not for her?

Can anybody recommend some safe sites? I know there are a lot of scams out there... even the ones that sound good. It would be especially helpful if you could recommend me to something you have tried out yourself and found successful. I am aware of many of the sites, it's just a matter of knowing which are true and which aren't. I'm looking for something that doesn't require any degrees or a lot of my time....kind of a work on my free hours sort of thing. I have a newborn on the way so I don't want to be tied up too badly...

My son has been attending nursery for 2 years. He moved in to a new room couple of months ago and his behaviour has completely changed. He has odd tantrum at home esp if tired, but at the nursery he is a different child- biting , pinching, smacking the other children and staff. Hes spitting at the manager, Ive never seen him spit. The nursery suggested I get health visitor to watch him there. She came to see him at home first and said he was a delightful child, she couldnt see any behavioural problems in him and said there was no point her visiting him at the nursery, it was the nursery that's the problem. i do have reservations about the nursery, they are usually made to watch tv or left to do "free play" they rarely go outdoors and dont have a routine. staff too are quite young and dont look happy to be there. When I take him kids play areas he is fine with the other kids. The nursery are now calling me at work demanding i pick him up as they cant cope! Any advice?

I know this sounds weird, but I'm more in the mood right after and right before my period. And then it seems during ovulation, I'm less in the mood. (I don't NOT have sex during ovulation, I'm just saying, it seems like I'm less in the mood around that time). Isn't that weird? You'd think it would be the opposite!

I'm 37 weeks, and my baby is huge. She's already 8 lbs by the ultrasounds. My doctor won't induce me for another week, but she is low, and I have been having contractions and Labor "scares" for over two weeks now. I'm 50% effaced, or whatever, but not even dialated. I wanna know what I can do?

I'm sixteen (seventeen in November) and am waiting on my period. It was due at the end of the month and hasn't come around yet. The HPT's don't read positive yet, so until I know for sure I'm just waiting for my period. If it doesn't come by next month, I will have to face reality, make a Dr.'s appointment, and tell my parents. My mother has told me from DayOne as she likes to say, that if I ever got pregnant I would be out on my butt. My father thinks it's the worst thing in the world that could happen to me. My boyfriend is very, very supportive (he's 19, 20 in November) and thinks we can do it, it will be hard obviously but we can do it. There are many pregnant girls around 17 in my town, but I don't want to be stuck! I plan to go to college and get my degrees, and I don't want to let a baby stand in the way. I would never consider abortion- I'm ProChoice but it just isn't a choice for me- and adoption would be a nightmare. I know it's possible, but is it probable? Positive answers?

We're not purchasing an airplane seat for our (then) 1 year old. She'll sit on our lap; although we hope to have a bulkhead.

So, I assume that, unless there are free seats on the plane, the baby seat is useless at that time.

However, I can rent a baby seat for about $60-$80 for 2 weeks, from the car rental agency. That saves lugging a seat around airports.

That said, we may also be spending some time in taxis (at the end of our trip, after returning the seat.)

Anyone know:
a) can you carry a baby in your arms in a taxi in France ... or do you need to supply a baby seat?
b) other than "a" and saving $60, is there any advantage to bringing a seat over from europe?

The tip of his penis entered about an inch but there was no intercourse and as there was foreplay goin on possibly could have been pre *** on it. This was a week before my period was due. The problem im havin here is that i wouldnt have thought i could get pregnant from either of these occasions and my pregnancy date of conception from scan is bang in the middle of these 2 events. I've wanted a baby for so long now it's painful! I hate it every month when i come on again. I'm 36 and every month i get less and less able to get pregnant. We've had the tests and, apart from having mild endometriosis in 1997 which i cleared up with tablets, everything else is fine.
Please sprinkle magic dust on my dreams. I so want a baby. And my partner does too.

We have 5 children! Four of our children have dark brown eyes: two of them have dark brown hair and the other two have light brown hair. Our youngest son aged 18 months has blonde hair and blue eyes. This has taken us by suprise, because all of our distant relations also have brown eyes and brown/light brown hair, we thought maybe he would only keep it for a short while but it is still there. He is a lovely little boy and we love him very much but we just wonder why he is so different to the rest of us. (Any scientists out there?)

This is something I just might not ever understand. You see parents on here all the time and in 'real' life who have troubled kids. They are throwing fits, they are cranky, and all of the family is just tired of the behavior.

The parents just want to know what they should do when the problem occurs. They don't want to change their own behavior or modify anything during their day. In other words they don't want to prevent the issues occurring.

I don't understand. The first question I ask myself when my son acts up is WHY is he acting up. Of course there are times that are just unexplainable but most of the time I can point my finger on it. "Oh, he's misbehaving because it's 11:00 and he is hungry. We should've waited until after lunch and his nap before going out..." Not as an excuse but a reminder not to do it again.

Am I the only one who thinks the way I am reflects how my children behave?

If you are one who doesn't believe in prevention--why?

Thanks!
