I have a friend and he's 25 years old. Well he stupidly had sex with a 16 year old 2 1/2 months ago....she had her period a week later and now she is pregnant. I told him the baby probably isn't his. Well her mother told him that her daughter ovulates 24/7. How stupid is that? And he believed her. Plus the 16 year old told him she doesn't want to date him anymore...wouldn't you think if he was the father she'd want to be with him? I think her mother just told him that crap because she knows she's stuck with her daughter until legal age and that my friend is 25...has his own house and car and wants him to take care of her. What do you think?

Whether the child is his or not, your friend is between a rock and a hard place. At any time, he could be accused of statutory rape, and correctly so, as far as the law is concerned. Perhaps the girl lives in a state which sets the consent laws at sixteen, but even then, given the number of years between the two, your friend could still end up in legal trouble. Putting the law aside, though, if this child is his, would it be so terrible for him and the girl to be married as soon as it was possible for the girl to be married? Would something really be wrong with him taking responsibility for his child, and also the child's mother? Perhaps the marriage would not be an enduring one, but who's to say it wouldn't be? And by the sounds of it, wouldn't the girl be better off being married to your friend?

Anyway, I know that's not really your question. If the girl is known to have slept with other boys and men, it is quite possible the child is not your friend's. The only way to know for sure is to have a DNA test done. All I'm saying is this, any way your friend decides to handle this, he is at risk of arrest, being charged with statutory rape, and ending up in prison. This is one mistake he may not be able to dodge.

This is very crazy. No one ovulates 24/7. But he did break the law by having sex with a minor. I have known people who got pregnant from a one night stand and did not want to be with the father of their baby, so that argument is no good. Just because she doesn't want to be with him does not mean he isn't the father. They should just wait until the baby is born and have a DNA test to find out if he is the father or not. And if you are a minor, I think you should quit hanging out with this 25 year old. He sounds like nothing but trouble.

I think a paternity test is the only way to go- since technically he's guilty of statutory rape...........so this could turn out to be more than just stupid- it could become a criminal issue. Especially if Momma wants to push it. It's not like he's 18 or 19 either- 25! You feel sympathy for your friend, but what he did was incredibly irresponsible, especially without a condom.... so I find it difficult to be supportive of him at all, even if he isn't the father.

I think your friend should go to jail for having sex with a 16yo girl. Many states will prosecute if there is a difference of more than 3 years, even if the age of consent is 16.

Well first of all it was stupid of him to sleep with an underage girl he can go to jail for that too. if the girls mom calls the cops.. well yeah the lady is kinda stupid too. who ovulates 24/7?
I have never heard of that in my life.. but who knows maybe its true..lol
Well I dont think it is his, cuz if I were her, as soon as the baby was born it would be child support for him..

A woman cannot ovulate 24/7, they have a limited amount of eggs and simply would run out. Tell him to get a paternity test.

It's very likely that he is being set up. However, it is possible to have a period and still be pregnant. He needs to pay for a DNA test before making any commitments.

If they are not going to press charges for statutory rape, then wait until it is born and have him get a paternity test and that's all he can do.
