the last time i had sex i was 12 weeks into my pregnancy, we stopped to noticed i was bleeding a little more than usual, so i called my doctor, he seen me the next day, my cervix was closed and he told me it came from my cervix, he told me not to have sex, so i went in for an ultrasound about 5 days later and showed my little baby healthy.
the last time i have seen my doctor was when i was 12 weeks, i have been seeing the practitioner, and i was wondering if its safe for me to have sex again
i mean i was sexually active the first 12 weeks of my pregnancy and everything was fine, which is what i didnt understand why my doctor told me no sex.

could i ask the practitioner about this next time i go even tho she is not my doctor??

i was also wondering if other women think its safe for me to have sex, i won't do anything until speaking with my doctor but i just want to know what other women think

oh and im 22 weeks and 4 days

In my first pregnancy, I experienced a little bit of bleeding and I was told not to have sex for 2 weeks. After that I was allowed to resume my usual activity as long as I did not have any further problems - which I did not. I would ask the practitioner about it, she can at least bring your question to the attention of the doctor if need be.

I would ok it with your dr first. Let them know that if anything happens you will notify them immediately. They know more about your cervix and or the position of you placenta, so they need to give the go ahead. If they clear you for sex then it's fine. But if the bleeding problem occurs again, then they will probably make you stop for good. I know it seems like an eternity to you and your partner, but this pregnancy won't last forever. Good luck and best wishes.

Normally it is safe to have sex during pregnancy but in your case I really think you should talk to your Dr. before you have sex again. There had to have been a reason the bleeding occured the first time and if it is possible that it could be harmful to the baby then you don't want to risk it.

I think it's fine.

I had sex all through out my first pregnancy except when I was about 11 weeks pregnant. I had spotting and found out it was endangered miscarriage. I didn't have sex for a week and then continued. The only problem was that he was born a month early. But he's big and healthy now.

I would not do anything until you consult your Dr. For some reason he felt it necessary that you do not have sex and that is why he is the Dr. and not us. I would not risk my baby until I knew for sure. Sorry, that is a bummer that you can not have sex. lol call him today hehehehe

clear it with the practioner at the next visit. Its likely that the bleeding problem will not recur, and if it does you obviously have your answer.
