Well I was just told two weeks ago I have PCOS. It broke my heart but it's getting better. My ob told me to stay away from carbs, surgar, milk, juice. I need to stay away from light colored veggies ( corn, carrots ets) and the only fruit I can have are berries ( starwberrys, blackberrys) they all have less surgar and its easier for your body to break down. I was also told to excerise which I run everyday. The hardest part was the carbs and soda for me. I ave been doing this for two weeks and broke down once and had a tortilla. Next month they are doing a injection into my uterus and doing a sonogram and then putting me on metiforimin. Good luck

A good diet for PCOs sufferers would be the South Beach diet or a diet recommended for a diabetic as most people with PCOS are found to be insulin resistant and are often termed pre-diabetic.

I know I followed a diabetic recommended diet while trying to conceive and I got pregnant on my first round of IUI.

Generally a low carb diet is recommended for women with PCOS because a majority are insulin resistent or have diabetes.

I have PCOS too and I go to rthe web site http://www.soulcysters.com for information on PCOS. I just bought a book that was recommended on that site, "A Patients Guide to PCOS" and it was very helpful. That book includes a section on a PCOS diet and exercise plan, as well as getting and staying pregnant.

Good luck!!

I was successful with the Adkins diet, but I was absolutely miserable. I switched to South Beach. The weight didn't come off quite as fast, but at least I could stick to it.
