In-laws, parents, friends, everyone is constantly saying how my son is such a "good" baby because he rarely cries, entertains himself, smiles often, etc. I really don't like the phrase good baby but I get what they are saying. Is a baby "bad" if he/she does cry a lot, fussy, etc? I'm going to have to say no. How about you?

Ok, so my 5 year old started kindergarten today and got a family homework project. We have to make a Me Mobile that will reflect our whole family as seen through the eyes of my kindergartner. First off how do you explain this to a 5 yr. old so that they can come up with ideas? She doesn't even know what a mobile is. Does anyone have any creative ideas? If it helps we are a military family and her dad is deployed to Iraq right now so I am pretty much on my own and I am definetly not the creative type. Please help the exaperated mom.

Hi there. This question is for my mother. A few days ago she posted a question under myself asking for help with a problem adoption. I could NOT beleive the responses she got & how so many viewed her negatively.

My parents adopted a young boy a few years ago. We all accepted this beautiful little red-headed child as part of our family. My parents spoiled him... He was in trouble in school a bit nothing major. One day my mom and dads world fell apart. They received a call from my cousin saying my brother molested her son and he finally talked to her about this. At this moment my brother was at boy scout camp. He was sent away immediatly. Only to tell counsolers he moslested 11 other victims while living at my parents home. One was my 2 month old son.

They tried to have the adoption over turned with no success. It looks like they stand to lose everything they own. There are $150,000+ costs aleady for care. His sexual issues were never addressed to them before the adoption. Help?!

My 17 yr old. son broke up with his ex-gf of 1 1/2 yrs, and has been seeing somebody else for the past cpl. months now. While going through my PC, I found "vaginal" pics. When I traced the souce, it took me to the ex's cell phone number. Apparentely, she took the pics with her camera phone and sent them to him earlier this month.
I know she's having a hard time letting go, and, he's swore to me that they never had sex. I want them both to be aware of my knowledge of this and let them know that this is NOT acceptible behavior of a young lady and a young man and that she just needs to move on.
Parents, any suggestions??

Lately my son has been very difficult and I have read many wonderful time out responses in my past questions but what age do they really start to not hurt you so bad. Does anyone else just go into a room at times and cry because their child has broken their heart? Is this just part of the art of parenting?

My daughter is 4 1/2 and has been potty trained since she was 3. She doesn't stay dry at night yet (she did for the first week after potty training, but began wetting at night after that) but what concerns me most is her frequent "little" accidents during the day. I say "little" because she never has a full-blown accident. She just wets a little in her underwear because she waits too long to get to the bathroom. Having wet underwear or even the smell does not seem to bother her. We have tried EVERYTHING from rewards to taking away toys....what can I do to keep her from having these accidents? And also, how do I help her to learn to stay dry at night? Do I need to stop putting pull-ups on her at night for her to learn? Thanks in advance for the help! :o)

I just started giving my son (who will be 8 weeks on the 19th) rice cereal in his bottle. I use maybe a third of the formula scoop mixed with 4 ounces of formula. My question is, is that too much? and I was going to give it to him in his bottle for his 'breakfast' (which is usually at 7am)and then again right before his bedtime (which is around 9pm). Or should I just give it to him right before his bed.

**I'm giving him rice cereal because his is ALWAYS hungry**

my sister in law gave us a nice looking crib that her daughter had used.
it's a 2-in-1 crib/toddler bed. i'm not sure if we have all the parts because we can't figure out how to set up the springs so they go inside the crib frame.
we have the two headboards and the two side boards and then on each of the head boards is a roller and caster casing, but we don't have any part that will roll into it (the caster casing looks like the kind on a kitchen drawer)
we have the springs and a mattress.
now how do we make it work, what are we missing?!
can we get the parts somewhere like walmart for cheap??

I am thinking about possibly getting my daughter into child modeling. she is almost 2 1/2 and loves to be in front of a camera and entertain. She is 3' 3" tall and I think she would absolutely love it. Do you think she has a good look for the industry?

9 yr old girl is upset about something so she has attitude. Dad says stop, she starts crying. Dad says "If you don't stop crying about that you are going to go to bed by youself and nobody will tuck you in, I will count to five". (She is crying about somethiong very silly) So she stops. Then starts again. Dad sends her to her room and she starts throwing a fit, crying way louder. Yelling dad. Ignores her a bit, finally goes there and tells her crying is not going to work and that he told her already what would happen so she had better stop and goto bed. She does it again, louder. He ignores, eventually goes back. Tells her the same thing but more sternly. She stops then starts making slapping sounds and hitting herself. He says she had better never ever do that again. "You don't try to hurt yourself for my attention", she says its because she is a bad girl she was doing that. So he spanks her because he has had enough. How do you parent this girl? She is a bit of an attention seeker.

I have the set that comes with the character bedding, and I know I can use my crib sheets also. But I was wondering if anyone sells regular sets, with both the fitted and flat sheet and pillowcase for toddler beds, like they do for any bigger bed.

I just bought an antique "Jenny Lind" crib from an antique mall. They didn't know the exact date it came from but they are sure it is older than the 1950's. I bought it for $60. I can't find a website or any info on what Antique Jenny Lind cribs run. Can anyone tell me what a crib like that would cost?

We have never used protection, I have only gotten pregnant once & had a blighted ovum. We are both fertile with no problems (that we have found). With all the pregnant women in the world, why would I not be pregnant yet? I mean is there something that could be causing my eggs not to implant...also, I've heard that over 50% of fertilized eggs do not implant...is this for every woman, or do some women have a better chance of implantation than others? I mean my 19 yr. old neice has 2 kids (NOT PLANNED) and my husband & I aren't pregnant yet!! HELP

She said she has been throwing up and not feeling well since saturday which was the day it happened. which was the same day the condom broke. it could just be some sickness she got from that day right? isnt it too early for that kinda symptom.
right afterwards she began to be sick.

This is very confusing, at least for me, I'm new at this so help me out girls. My cycle is usually irregular, I can be on a cyle of anywhere from 29-34 days. We're ttc and if I am on at least a 29 day cycle, on babyzone.com my ovulation day would be the 4th (today) and we "did it" the 2nd (sunday) because of sperm living up to 5 days. But if I'm on a 34 day cycle, my ovulation day isn't until the 8th. Hopefully you're following me, haha. I'm guessing the sperm wouldn't live until the 8th and I know there's no way to tell if I could be pregnant because Yahoo isn't a pregnancy test but with the irregular cycle, do you think the chances of pregnancy could be good??

Also, for those who have been pregnant, before you even took a test, did you have early symptoms? If so, what were they.

Thanks so much!

Okay - Long story short, when I was 18, I started dating a guy from Guatemala. I got pregnant and had a child. He's ALWAYS been involved with my son, has ALWAYS paid child support, and is an all around great guy.
Anyway- Last December, He was sent back to Guatemala (He was here legally, and I'm not entirely sure why he was sent back) But he was, I am assuming it has something to do with him getting into some trouble last year, Anyway, I am having a hard time explaining to my 9 year old why his daddy is gone, and also why he can't go to Guatemala to visit him, I was wondering if maybe someone had some advice on how to explain this difficult yet very sensitive situation to my son?

My son will be 10 months old at Christmas. I would like some suggestions on what your toys your kids liked best. I would like to shop around for the best prices in the next few months. I don't want real babyish stuff and some things I figure he will use more in the summer, like a ride on toy or trike. Any suggestions would be great...thanks.

He has had eczema since he was very young and has been having to use a steroid cream for it which I DO NOT want to use on him. I did some research on baby products and the fact that they still have a very irritating ingredient in them (sodium lauryl sulfate) so I decided to switch to all natural products. I chose the Burt's Bees baby line. I started using it but now it seems he has a little flare up. Do you know of any all natural baby products that are good to help with eczema?
