My baby is almost 4 months and seems to eat pretty often 90ml every 2 hours. I was thinking to start giving her a baby cereal, since she is waking up every 2 hours at night too. Any advice?

My little girl is 6 months old and I'm having trouble getting her on a good sleep schedule - any suggestions? I'd like to find something that works with her natural sleep "patterns" but also is predictable enough that I can plan my day around it.

So far these are her sleep "patterns" that I've observed: She will sleep for an average of 12 total hrs during a 24 hr period. Her night sleep will be 9-11 hours (with one waking for a quick bottle) and her day naps will be 1-3 hours. When she takes short naps during the day (2 naps of 30-45 min each) she will sleep longer at night (10-11 hours). If she takes longer naps during the day (2 naps of 1-1.5 hr each) she will sleep shorter at night (9-10 hrs). She will only take 2 naps per day (one morning, one afternoon) - if I try for a 3rd nap she will fight it unless we're in the car.

How should I arrange our daily schedule? Should I use set clock times for naps/bedtime? Or should I go by how many hours of awake time between sleeps?

my son is 18 months old and won't eat anything but chicken, he has been on the chicken kick for a few months now, i try to get him to eat anything else but unless its chicken or watermelon he won't even put it in his mouth. I know kids go through these phases but any ideas to speed it up would be helpful

My son is a month old and I am breast-feeding. For Thanksgiving my father, sister, husband, son, and myself are flying to Pittsburgh, Pa from Houston, Texas. That’s a 3-hour flight. My son will only be 3 and half months old. I am so nervous he will cry the WHOLE flight. I heard your supposed to breast feed on take off's and landings but does that really work? Anyone been in a similar situation and know what to do?

I remember needing a small ironing board (sleeve board) for my daughter's clothes. that's something you would never think of for a baby shower. what are some things you needed that might not be thought of for gift ideas?

I am a new mommy so if anyone has any advice its aprecated.

I was just wondering. Last night was our fist night home out of the hospital. I belive my milk is starting to come in. Last night my baby woke every hour to eat and nursed at least 15 minutes sometimes more and went back to sleep. Is this normal, every hour? practicly like clock work?

Thank You in advance.

I'm 32 and single. I've debated whether to marry and have kids for my entire adult life, recognizing what important, permanent, and life-changing decisions they are.

I've heard plenty of arguments against both and have always wondered if my independent, free-spirited personality could deal with sharing every aspect of my life with another person without grwoing terribly annoyed with them, or locking myself into the commitment of children, because if I were a parent, I would be the most responsible and attendant parent ever.

I cringe at the sound of babies crying. I can't walk down the diaper aisle in stores because I hate the smell of baby wipes. And, while I admit I would be amazed to create and nurture a life, I am also generally annoyed by imaturity, even that of a child.

I've been told this will change as I grow older, and if so I want to have kids before I'm old enough for it to be too late. I'm afraid of being old and alone but also afraid of being sorry I did it.

I think I may have a future little leaguer on my hands, but in the mean time, he just dies laughing when he tosses a toy clear across the room. He has a good pitch and he can use both hand or arms equally good! He has hit me, dad, the daycare teacher, and any other poor soul who doesn't move out the way quick enough. How do I stop this before he really hurts somebody?

The last name is Gerth. This is my boyfriend's last name and we're not expecting, but I'm assuming one day (after marriage)...

I really like feminine names like Celeste, Asha, Holly, Juliet... but do these names work with such a masculine last name? I guess another problem is that his last name reminds me of a penis... haha... as in penis girth. So, I would have a hard time naming a girl "Lacey Gerth" or something (I would picture a penis in a dress).

I know, it's weird. But what do you think? Better to go with stronger girls names?

I have to go back to work about two to three months after I have my baby, there's no way around it. I still want to do the best for my baby possible so I'm planning on pumping and then feeding my baby through bottle. That way she'll be used to that for when I go back to work and also my husband can be involved more in feeding her. My question is does anyone have any advice about doing this, serious answers only and preferably from experience.

when i went they told me i was 75% effaced and 4 cm dialiated. last night after sex i was having bad pain in my lower abdomen but it went away so i guess it was just from intercourse. last time i was in labor for a very short time and im scared i wonnt get to the dr in time becuase i live pretty far away. im having minor cramping, not too much pain, and i really want to go to the dr, im sure ive dialiated more. did this happen to anyone where you were like halfway dialiated with no pain?? and did labor come fast and hard to you??
