The last name is Gerth. This is my boyfriend's last name and we're not expecting, but I'm assuming one day (after marriage)...

I really like feminine names like Celeste, Asha, Holly, Juliet... but do these names work with such a masculine last name? I guess another problem is that his last name reminds me of a penis... haha... as in penis girth. So, I would have a hard time naming a girl "Lacey Gerth" or something (I would picture a penis in a dress).

I know, it's weird. But what do you think? Better to go with stronger girls names?

Hey there, now don't judge. I'm actually a bored 26-year-old civil engineer. No homework for me. I just can't wait to have kids.

And to the suggestion of using my last name in there... no way, I hate it! It's Bonney.

I think the last name is not as bad as you think...I don't think it's that masculine. I think feminine names will be just fine. It's a short, one-syllable last name so I think longer names that end in "a" would work:

Isabella Gerth
Savanna Gerth
Olivia Gerth

What about something like Emmaline Gerth or Evaline Gerth? Softer names like that seem to make the name a bit more feminine.

HAve a double barreled name with your name as the last on...Eg. Juliet Gerth-Smith....the world has changed and there is really no need tp take a mans name alone for your children...even if you are married...especially if the name happens to be Gerth! No offense.

I think a simple first name would be a good choice, so as not to clash too much.

Eva Gerth
Christina Gerth
Asha Gerth
Holly Gerth

try a fisrt name that is strong and feminine. I like this one best.... I know some one with a strong last name and this is her first name... we always call her Jenny for short.
