Well, I had long labors with pain...one induced labor and the other was a labor that began with my water breaking. My aunt just had some really bad back pains during her labor and by the time she got to the hospital she was ready to go into delivery. I would call your doctor's office now and let them know what you said in your question. They might want you to head up to the hospital to be checked to see if you have dilated even more. The cramping you are having...keep track of the location, severity, length and timing. They could be labor pains, every labor is different. Good luck to you and best wishes :)

Is the cramping consistently happening every few minutes. Next time it happens make sure to note the time, and then check the time again when you get cramping again. I didn't have this until my 4th child, as with the first 3 I was induced. If I were you and you had a quick labor your first time, I would get myself to the doctor as soon as the contractions are consistently maybe 10 minutes apart. If you're worried you won't make it to the doc in time because of how long it takes you to get there, just go now and have them recheck you. You could also just go and ask to be induced since you're overdue. Good luck!

With my 3rd pregnancy all i had was a cramp in my left side (even monitors couldn't pick up anything), I was at the hospital and the nurse told me at 3am I was going home at 7am "it is just a cramp you should take it easy"
At 6:21 am I delivered a 8lb 6oz little girl and told the nurse to get the hell away from me when she came into the room - if you think you are in labor even if the pains are not strong go to the hospital to be checked it is better to be safe not sorry.
Good luck

I had all my kids fast. With my first I was 3cm dilated for 2 weeks before I had him. Was in labour for 61/2 hours. With my second I was 3cm dilated 3cm for a month before I had him. I almost didn't make to the hosptial. My labour with him was 2 hours. The doctor said to me that if I felt any sighs go to the hospital right wawy and that is what I did with my third. I had her in 41/2 hours and she was very fast coming out the doctor never made it back into the room. It was the nurse and my mom who delievered her. If the doctor knows that the first time was fast you should go to hospital right away if you are having any signs. I know with this pregnancy I will be doing the same again. My daughter was also 3 wks early. Good luck with everything!!!!!!

I was 100% effaced and dilated to 4 with no obvious contractions and no pain. I was shocked when my doctor had told me this. I went into labor the same day and had a 2 hour labor. You should go back in to your doctor. You'll probably go really fast.

Once I start dilating I go very fast, call your Doctor and ask them if they can check you out.
