My baby is almost 4 months and seems to eat pretty often 90ml every 2 hours. I was thinking to start giving her a baby cereal, since she is waking up every 2 hours at night too. Any advice?

I personally would just increase her volume of formula intake. It is much better to wait until 6 months and when baby is showing real signs of being ready.

some of these signs are:
--Baby can sit up well without support.
--Baby has lost the tongue-thrust reflex and does not automatically push solids out of his mouth with his tongue.
--Baby is ready and willing to chew.
--Baby is developing a “pincer” grasp, where he picks up food or other objects between thumb and forefinger. Using the fingers and scraping the food into the palm of the hand (palmar grasp) does not substitute for pincer grasp development.
--Baby is eager to participate in mealtime and may try to grab food and put it in his mouth.

Umm... 90ML is only 3 oz. That's not that much. My daughter ate that much at 3-5 weeks old! Is she eating until she's full? My 4 month old daughter eats 6-7 oz every two hours ( thats 177-200 ml).

Discuss it with your doctor first. I just started my 4 month old on cereal yesterday. Your daughter should be able to sit up with some assistance (holding her head steady) and be able to slurp off a spoon. Babies have a reflect of shoving their tongue outwards (this helps keep them from choking on stuff) and that reflex needs to be gone.

Discuss it with your doctor, but 4 months is average. And make sure baby is eating until she is full-- 90ml sounds like way too little.

90ml every 2 hours?? thats not a lot, my baby is 14 weeks and on 180ml every 31/2 hours, and is sleeping throught the nite (I give her a slightly bigger feed before she goes to bed). If that is all u are giving her through the day I would guess she is still hungry, and thats why she is waking up. I think u need to increase the amount u are giving her, and also increase the gap between feeds

start cereal for a few weeks, and then add some fruit like applesauce or baby pear food.

She shouldnt be eating every two hours at 4 months, unless she's a premie. She must not be eating enough, or else she's ready for solids. She can actually start into stage one baby foods at this age. BUt starting with cereal is better, its easier on her digestive system, helps it to get ready for solids in two weeks or so.

My son started cereal right about 3 months, two weeks later I switched to stage one baby foods.... he never liked cereal after that. But he still mostly breast fed.

I started feeding my daughter rice cereal around 6 weeks, and will start feeding her other solids when she hits 4 months old. Ever since we've started her on the cereal, she sleep anywhere from 7-9 hours at night. I want to add too that my pediatrician said that it was completely fine that we were feeding her cereal, in fact, he actually recommended it. My daughter is healthy, growing nicely (not too big) and loves her cereal at night. In fact, she knows that after her bath and cereal, it's time to go to bed. I'd say go for it.

You could start her with a little rice cereal at night before bed with whatever she'll drink in formula. That will fill her tummy a little better. Make the rice cereal soft until she gets used to it.
I did this with my daughter, worked like a charm.

I would give it a bit more time.. Perhaps start solids around 6 months.. Little tummies often can't handle the solids until then.. Or maybe just a little bit of rice cereal in the evening but, not much more than that... Good luck
