We have never used protection, I have only gotten pregnant once & had a blighted ovum. We are both fertile with no problems (that we have found). With all the pregnant women in the world, why would I not be pregnant yet? I mean is there something that could be causing my eggs not to implant...also, I've heard that over 50% of fertilized eggs do not implant...is this for every woman, or do some women have a better chance of implantation than others? I mean my 19 yr. old neice has 2 kids (NOT PLANNED) and my husband & I aren't pregnant yet!! HELP

The 2 main reasons a fertilized egg doesn't implant is either a bad egg or sperm that would cause genetic malformations with the child later in life, or poor uterine lining.
I don't think there is any way to really know if sperm and egg are meeting and then not implanting or what the problem is. But there is something you can do to help ripen the lining of the uterus to help give the eggs a little better chance of implanting. Try using natural progesterone cream after ovulation til your period comes. Walmart sells a brand, Rexall, for $13. Start using it a couple days after ovulation--you will have to pinpoint ovulation with BBT--and keep using the cream til either your period comes, or you get a neg preg test after using the cream for 14 days. If you get a pos test, keep using the cream AT LEAST through the first trimester and then wean off gradually.

Honey, there are lots of women just like you that ask the same question...why aren't I pregnant yet? We all see the same thing, and it seems like the one's who want children can't have them and the one's who aren't ready or have actually decided that parenthood is not for them have them. Just the other day I read an article in the paper telling about how a woman tried to literally flush her baby down the toilet at a McDonald's Resturaunt where she gave birth at, she stated she did not know she was pregnant....how could she of not known. Why could she have a baby and not you or me or one of the other women that write in everyday asking about ovulation and other things of that matter. I don't know why, but I know that you stated that over 50% of fertilized eggs don't implant. Look at it this way... if your eggs are being fertilized and just aren't implanting yet that you still have close to a 50% chance of getting pregnant. It's 50-50. That has to be better than 70-30.

One thing that could be causing you to not become pregnant is stress. You seem awful stressed out about this, try to relax and not think about it so much. Maybe find you something to take your mind off of it for a couple of hours, or even for the night. Just have fun trying, I have always been told that making the child your going to love is half the fun. =)

Best of Luck to you and yours

Are you tracking your temp or cm? Or are you just trying the hit-or-miss method (I call it "casually" trying;) )? Trying "casually" can do the trick, but for many women, we need more help than just that.

Try tracking your cycles, your temp and your cm. It helps you tell when you have ovulated or when you will ovulate, which makes it easier to time sex. You should have sex everyday or every other day for the days BEFORE you ovulate. There should be sperm in there ready and waiting for that egg.

Look in to the website fertilityfriend.com and/or the book Taking Contol of Your Fertility.

Like someone else said before, many of us have asked the same thing. Why are these women that dont/want or arent ready for kids able to get pregnant with no trouble at all, yet there are others of us that have been waiting years for that positive test and havent gotten it yet.
One good thing is these days we know so much more about our own bodies and can take control of it much more easily than the generations before us. These days the word "infertile" does not mean you cant have kids. It just means you have to work a little more for it, and we all know anything worth having is worth fighting for, right?

The only way to know for sure would be to go to the doctors and see if they would test your lining. I am not sure if there is a test for this but no harm in asking. I hope everything works out for you. Good luck!

Failed implantation can be caused by physical obstruction (commonly PID), or hormonal imbalance preventing the uterus from properly 'preparing' itself for implantation.
