I am sick of seeing people give thumbs down for legitimate answers. Perhaps a few people haven't been sleeping too well, due to someone keeping them up all night??

The trolls like giving thumbs down. All ppl who answer my questions get a thumbs up except for the vulgar ones. You don't have to agree with their answer but their opinon does count:)

I know, LOL, I got a thumbs down for asking for the questioner to post some more details once. Crazy.
Anyway, I agree with the pp; I only will give a thumbs down to an answer that is dangerous or harmful. Otherwise, it's just experience and opinion.

Agreed...I think people give thumbs down or up based on purely personal preference with no regard to whether the answer is technically correct or not. Could be lack of sleep...or people trying to get their answer to have less thumbs down than other peoples (they give everyone else thumbs down by default)....or whatever. Don't see anyway around it though....ignore it. I don't even bother with the "thumbs" unless I see something blatantly wrong or harmful.
