Pregnancy & Parenting - 25 January 2007

I'm an aunt-to-be trying to get a vague grasp of when my new little nephew is going to come screaming into the world. I'm sure there aren't any specific rules as to when first time babies arrive, however, it seems as though you can generally make some assumptions based upon statistics (such as first-time mothers tend to have longer labor times). I'm hoping someone who is involved with a hospital maternity ward might be able to offer any thoughts? Or maybe a statistics person? Anyone?

Up till 5 weeks late I was experiencing lots of burping, sudden nausea, dizziness, extreme exhaustion. I have had a "few" neg preg tests, I am seeing the doc next week, but is it still possible I am pregnant because I haven't felt the symptoms in a few days...

I had to have a D&C at 10 wks along due to my baby not having a heartbeat and my body wasnt getting rid of it. My uterus wasnt opening and they were afraid of infection.So I had the d&c...went home...that night and all day the next I was still bleeding and hurting. Went back and they "didnt get all of it" so had to have another d&c. After it was over..they waited for me to get up, drink, pee and go home. But I couldnt..I was hurting and the nurse kept calling the doctor(it was 7pm when I came out of procedure)doctor kept giving me ativan for my nerves and sleeping pills. Finally at 4 am when I started screaming and told my husband to get me out of there the doctor came in . After a 6 hr surgery..they had punctured through my uterus, and cut into my intestines in 3 different areas. So they had to cut pieces out and reattach. My abd had set up infection from the leaking. Has anyone else had this happen? I spent 2 wks in hosp. That was last sept. Scared to try again..was first preg.

small pains im my pubic bone too..
going to get checked with midwife but just wondered if anyone else has experienced this and what the outcome was
ps did suffer pelvic pain 9 years ago when having my son, maybe it is the start of that again??

she eats mainly crisps which dont fill her up and she wakes at three in the morning because she is hungry we give her milk but she drinks loads off it Help.

I'll be 20 weeks pregnant tomorrow and I have yet to feel my baby move. I have an appt on weds i will ask the dr then but is this normal? i havent felt any flutters or anything. This is my 3rd pregnancy

This despite our having a maid keep her company through the night,she throws tantrums upon being asked to sleep in her room.She keeps repeating that she is afraid to sleep alone eventhough we monitor her watching tv & making sure she does'nt see any horror shows .Any suggestions that would make her feel more comfortable in her room,as for example changing the direction of the position she sleeps in,or hanging some patterns etc. in the room to ward off bad dreams,putting some particular colour's night lamps in her room colouring the room with fancy patterns or the like?

My friend told me last nite that if someone has a baby prematurely(we both live in PA) and it weighs less than 5 lbs the mother can apply for some type of assistance and get a monthly stipend for the baby. Has anyone else heard of this and if so how would one apply? I've never heard of it but it seems like a good idea since some preemies require additional care and the mother may need to take extra unpaid maternity leave. Please ONLY answer if you have information and don't just write back that you've never heard of it either. Thanks.

They couldnt see any thing expect the sac. Has this happened to anyone else. I probably expecting to much but I did expect to see a little more than the sac. I quite worried now. I go back next Thursday again at the minute it seems like a life time away.

My daughter will have her 1st b'day on march, and I want to make a simple party but unforgettable for her. My husband and I have decided to make a swimming pool party, we only invite 25 kids (around 1,5 - 9 yo) so that my daughter can also hv fun and the party won't be boring. All I want to ask is :

1. What kind of games do u think interesting and easy to be
played by kids on that ages?
2. Which one is more kids like the most : Pizza Hut, Mc Donanld,
or Kentucky Fried Chicken as the meal ?
3. What kind of things as best souvenir for the kids, is it snacks or
stationeries ?
4. Do u think swimming pool party will be interesting both for my

Before I married in 2004, I have been operated bcos of vibroid, after the marriage I was pregnant and miscarriage occurs after 3 months, second time the same thing happened and the doctor told me the vibroid had manifested again that I should come for operation the second time without a child what shall I do?

So I had posted a couple days ago asking about being car sick and if that had anything to do with pregnancy and it turns out in my case it does!!!

I just took an hpt ( clearblue ) and its positive!! : )

anyway im going to the doctor tomorrow to have them do the test again ( just to make sure ) what usually happens when you go to the doctor on a positive pregnancy test???
like what else do they do??? I just want to be prepared

also what are the odds of a false positive???
