ok in response to my previous question will i spell neave like that or like this neev or like this niamh i like the last one but think people would have problems saying it properly what do you think

i think you should spell it as 'Niamh' as that's the traditional spelling. I don't have people having problems saying my name, they just can't seem to spell it (my name is Esther with an 'H')

I prefer it when names are spelt as they are meant to be rather than giving them phonetic spellings like neev. Niamh is a pretty name in looks and sound so stick with it!

i can see how u got neev and neave but they really dont look good. niamh is a lovely name so stick with that spelling. once you tell people thats how to pronunce it theyl remember. i went to school with a girl called sian (sheena) it was fine once we knew how to say it

Niamh is the traditional Gaelic spelling. I think if you are going to use a name you should stick to the traditional spelling.Those who are'nt familiar with the name might slip up the first time they encounter it but all you have to do is put them right.
I have seen it spelt Naeve but I prefer the Gaelic spelling.

niamh is the way to spell it and most people know that it is pronounced neev. dont dumb down a name just because a couple of people wont know how to pronounce it.

niamh is a lovely name and the fun thing when you name your baby is you can spell it how ever you like so you can make it unique if you like its your child spell it how you want! good luck xx

my sisters name is spelt niamh and no one has problems with saying her name, she is 5 and even all the kids know how to say it!
