I had to have a D&C at 10 wks along due to my baby not having a heartbeat and my body wasnt getting rid of it. My uterus wasnt opening and they were afraid of infection. So I had the d&c...went home...that night and all day the next I was still bleeding and hurting. Went back and they "didnt get all of it" so had to have another d&c. After it was over..they waited for me to get up, drink, pee and go home. But I couldnt..I was hurting and the nurse kept calling the doctor(it was 7pm when I came out of procedure)doctor kept giving me ativan for my nerves and sleeping pills. Finally at 4 am when I started screaming and told my husband to get me out of there the doctor came in . After a 6 hr surgery..they had punctured through my uterus, and cut into my intestines in 3 different areas. So they had to cut pieces out and reattach. My abd had set up infection from the leaking. Has anyone else had this happen? I spent 2 wks in hosp. That was last sept. Scared to try again..was first preg.

I am so sorry for what you went through. That is horrible. I've had 2 D&C's (1 misscarriage, 1 stillbirth) and my body felt so much better after. What you went through is definately not the norm. Please try again. Don't let that @sshole doctor take away your desire to be a mom. A lot of first pregnancies end in misscarriage but the moms go on to have successful pregnancies after. Good luck to you honey, you will be fine.

Wow! I would be scared to try again aswell. I had a D&C at 12 weeks, mine was because I was bleeding VERY heavy, but the tissue wasn't passing. I didn't have any complications, and was told that the chances if anything like that happening was pretty rare. I would take some time to heal up before even thinking about trying to conceive again. If you aren't healed properly, you have a higher chance of miscarrying again. I waited 3 months before I started trying, and it took me 3 months to get pregnant. I now have a healthy 20 month old though! :)

As you have spoke of, DC transmission strains could be interior your skill if the AC/DC and DC/AC conversion expenditures are below the incremental line losses of an AC transmission line. I keep in mind listening to that the ruin-even factor replaced into around 4 hundred miles. of course this could selection reckoning on the burden. Southern California has a HVDC converter station that ties to a 846 miles long ±500 kV DC transmission line beginning in Celilio, Washington. the line travels however Oregon, Nevada, and California. The converter station replaced into build in 1970 with a score of 1400 MW at ±4 hundred kV. because that factor line enhancements and converter station enlargement and advancements have been made. the present rankings are: skill transmitted: 3100 MW DC Voltage: ±500 kV DC contemporary: 3100 A In 1985 the line replaced into upgraded to ±500 kV and the main factors on the converter station are: DC clear out - Prevents undesirable harmonics from passing onto the DC line. Smooting Reactor - Smooths the DC waveform after conversion. Tyrristor/Mercury Arc Valves - Convert AC to DC and vice versa. (Made via ABB) Controls - The converter firing controls command the thyristors to coach on and off for the DC conversion technique. Converter Transformer - Acts as a buffer between the DC and AC gadget. AC Filters - preclude undesirable harmonics from passing onto the AC gadget. The longest HVDC hyperlink interior the international is currenlty the Inga-Shaba 1700 km six hundred MW hyperlink connecting the Inga Dam to the Shaba copper mine, in Africa. The links under supply greater info on the converter stations and the evolution of HVDC transmission strains.

Re. "Has anyone else had this happen?"

Fortunately, not me. I don't think that's common at all.

Good heavens.

I'm no fan of lawyers, and no expert on surgery, but after that, I might consider talking to an attorney. Good luck.

I would, at least, find another medical facility for the next go. Or, more likely, a midwife.

Really, though doctors do not like it, watchful waiting is as safe or safer than preforming a D&C. I am saying you did wrong, you didn't know. But next time you should refuse the D&C and just monitor your temperature. Also you can consider mifepristone, there are risks and you should research them for yourself if you find yourself in this situation again.

The good news is that this may never happen again. Miscarriages are not uncommon but generally they aren't discovered until the cramping and bleeding starts. That isn't to say that their miscarriages happen immediately or faster than yours.

Unfortunatly you are not at a slightly higher risk because of the damage to your uterus. But you should be fine. You should pay close attention to your diet though, dark green leafy vegetables are particularly important for muscle (ie uterine) health. You can take powdered ones like alfalfa and oat straw in addition to what you eat.

Take care and wait until you are ready. You may need some counselling before you can move on.
