Sweetie, having been there (twice) I can assure you...no matter what you do, she most likely won't remember it (she's just too young.)
But, definitely make it something fun for her and the other kids...and if you have a video recorder, tape it, so you can play it back to her when she gets older.
Pizza is always a hit with kids (although at one year old, I doubt your daughter could eat it.) It also doesn't taste as bad when it's not hot (like chicken or burgers & fries.)
The swimming party might be nice, but I'd be nervous about the other kids getting hurt. (Unless you have all of the kids' parents there to watch their own child, you'd have to spend all of your time watching their every move, and you'd never get to relax. I know from experience...and I only had 5 kids to look after!)
Kids aged 5-9 actually love pinatas, and musical chairs (at least the ones at my son's parties...of course, those were several years ago.) If your little girl isn't afraid of loud noises, the bigger kids usually love sitting on balloons and making them pop.
And don't forget the goodie bags...kids love prizes...even cheap ones....candy is always good, too!
I hope your daughter's birthday is terrific...good luck!

1: get a bunch of wrapping paper and boxes kids that age love to play in them.
2: Depends on the age and if they have any teeth yet if you have childern 1 and younger have the parents bring their food most older children seem to love happy meals.
3: Get little baggies and put both snacks like mini cookies, fruit snacks the dollar store has tons of stickers, pens, crayons, and they have those small fun pads
4: Does your daughter like water? If so that would be great. With a pool party you need to make sure that each parent understands before hand that they are responsible for keeping an eye on their kids and the kids they bring with them. It would be horrible for anything to happen, but you need to think of the liability factor and if your willing to take that kind of a risk. If not you could get some sprinkler toys and have a water party without the drowning factor.

We used the Little Einstein's but we had to make everything, because there were no things released yet. (all we could find were baby Einstein's and my nephew likes the tv show Little Einstein's). Also we cleaned out the dollar store of 'baby's first birthday' favors. They came came in blue or pink. That way the theme could be Baby's first birthday.

I dont know how ur finaces are but even if ur loaded, id say save ur money, do something cheap and simple. She is NOT going to remember it. Envest the money in something more needed or a future party... one that she will remember. Buy her a single cake and let her dig in. Otherwise ur party sounds great. My son will be 5 in may and I will be HUGE ready to POP if I havent already. Can u come throw him a party? Ive been freeking about this subject LOL. Plus I live in Florida.... perfect for a swimming party:) lol

do you remember when you were one years old? Honestly? i know i don't, she going to forget no matter how much you do. Parents who throw parties for their kids before age 3 or 4 are just wasting money. The parties they throw are more for their fulfillment, not the childs. yes they will be happy for all the excitement, but they are too young to understand what a birthday is. Plan a big day if it makes you happy, but the child is just glad you're there and you love them, regardless of what you do.

there is no way she will remember this party, she's too young. but you can make it unforgettable for the guests. children like simple games..for a pool party...things like beach ball toss, only do it to music, stop the music at one point, whoever is holding ball is out. keep food simple and small....mini corndogs, little taquitos, little whitecastle cheeseburgers. i make treatbags to give away at the end of the party, lollipops, bubble blowers, you can get all of this at the dollar store. most kids love swimming i know that mine do! make sure to have an activity for kids who don't like to swim, such as: a sugar cookie table, buy or make sugar cookies, frosting, sprinkles choc. chips, candy...let's the little ones decorate their own cookies. simple games like simon says, red rover and green light red light are also fun because they can be played in the pool and kids who don't like the pool can also play outside of the pool. i also love my polaroid camera, they're fairly cheap and you get instant gratification. take a picture of each child with the bday girl and let them take it home. that way the kids will remember how much fun they had at your daughters bday!! good luck!

I STRONGLY suggest if you are having that many people for a pool party you hire a life guard. WHatever you do, keep it a "dry" party. No liquor.

To be honest, I don't think she will remember it, no matter WHAT you do. But, to answer your question better, I think you should make it so that the Parents don't forget it.
Pizza hut
Stationaries
